Which clothing items will come back?

This question seems to come up quite often (more often shortly before and after a clothing catalog launches)... what items will come back into Club Penguin? Are there any clothing items that will never come back?

The following items are not planned to ever come back:

- the party hats (beta test, 1st anniversary, etc.)
- pins

Every other player card item has the chance of coming back. Non-member items, member items, party items, backgrounds... every one will come back someday. They won't all come back at once, of course, but they will come back.

They brought up an interesting point…

What about the Blue Propeller cap? BillyBob said in the blog that it wouldn’t come back. Does this mean the red on is safe to?

Yeah, I can see how that would be misleading. He should have worded it differently, but what he meant was that it would be like any other party item is. Party items are more rare than clothing catalog items are, but as you've seen, even some party items have come back before.

At the time, it was an instruction to anyone who reads the blog that if you want to get the party item, you'd better be there sometime that weekend.

If it helps at all, there's no plans right now for when either propellor cap would come back... I highly doubt you'll see any of those given away again until at least next April.

EDIT: As you can see, we did bring back the red propellor cap for the 2008 April Fools... so if you need confirmation about items coming back, there you go.

Hi... there has been some questions about the Ruby pin being brought back, so I thought I'd clear it up.

The ruby was brought back because the play is "Ruby and the Ruby". It wouldn't make much sense if it was replaced with something else.

I made the statement that "pins would never return" long before the Ruby play came out... in fact, it was before the Stage itself even existed. The only pins at the time were the ones that were hidden in rooms every two weeks. I had never dreamed of using a pin for any other purpose at the time, especially not as a hidden treasure for a returning play. For the Ruby play, an exception had to be made, or else we would never have been able to bring the play back.
