Well this has happened before, but behind my ear kind of, on the back of my head, there is a thing coming out of my skull under my skin that feels like a vein or something. It feels like it's swollen, and it hurts to put any pressure on it and sometimes just hurts. It lasted about a week or so a while ago, and just two days ago it came back. To give you an idea of where exactly it is, here is a picture taken off of WebMD because it couldn't help me when I searched "swollen glands":
![]() Anyone know what it is?

Erm I suggest going to see a doctor. It wouldn't be a swollen vein or gland because they don't form bumps usually.

I have a very large gland on the right side of my neck which I've had since I was little.
It's been getting smaller the whole time and it's probably not far off a normal gland. but it gets bigger when I'm ill. The doctors gave me some injections because they thought it might be TB, but it was fine in the end. Think it could be like mine? Sounds similar, although I don't think it was ever very sore.

Hmmm.... you would only know for definite if you went to see a doctor. Can you explain it a bit more? Is it lumpy? A little bit hard? Does it feel like a ball? Is it round? Is it squashy?

I get these on and off, it's a cyst. It's a build up of tissue of liquid in an area. You may also know it as a form of acne. It's harmless, and it will go away eventually.

I wouldn't take anyone's advice on here, I'm pretty sure no one on here is a medical professional...
Anywho, tell you guardian and go to a doctor. It could be serious. |

It's definately not acne. Its gone now, but sometimes it comes back. And now it's just a small vein/artery.

Dracophile is currently not upset, just disappointed.

My doctor got mad at me that I did the (stupid) "manly" thing of attempting a home version of surgery on my own. Although I had "the right idea" I think it's best if you, you know, let the trained professionals do it. edit: I should mention that thanks to the American healthcare system I can't actually afford doctor's visits which is what brought me to literally mutilating a part of myself to save money.
