how do you get a friend code?

the tittle says it all. i have no idea. and does the normal DS still connect to wifi?

both kinds of ds go on wifi. just set up your connection and talk to the wifi person. then ask to connect to wifi. she will say that you have no1 registered (i think) so after she should ask if you want ot get your friend code.
