I have no idea. I don't think they realize that god inteded marriage to be between right handed people.

And both my parents are "left-handed". The treat me soooo badly, and they're indoctrinating me with their radical "left-handed" agenda!

I'm probably the only one who sees things this way, but I'll post anyway.

In essence, this conflict, like many others in the political world, are pointless. It cannot be reitterated enough that history has proven that a group of suppressed, determined people will, in the end, overpower their opposition and gain their withheld freedoms. Both African Americans and women have won their struggles. Homosexuals will, most likely, fall into that category in the near future as well. But, of course, then society(and the politicians) will need a new punching bag and/or distraction from the real issues. Who's it gonna be next? Those with mental illnesses...physical disabilities...immigrants?

This is the cycle with which our society works, has worked, and will work. People would much rather hold the rights and happiness of an innocent group of people hostage rather than pay attention to issues that actually matter: the economy, our schools, unemployment, poverty, child abuse, etc, etc. However, if the "popular majority" wishes to debate over giving a right to one group of people that should already be in their possessiom in the first place, be my guest. It won't matter in a decade anyway.

Other then that I don't know why they choose that lifestyle but I disagree with it.
The gay community? Are you being serious? It was more like, Perez Hilton.

No, because that word means absolutely nothing from it's original meaning. I don't want marriage to be like that, a casual term.
Bizor, if a language is still actively used, the meaning of words will change. Though I'm quiet sure gay community will settle for any other word as long as the same rights will be given as marriage.

Like people said before me, it was more like, Perez Hilton.

Another point that, if she had an opinion that said that black people should still be denied of some rights, she would be bashed and scolded at by nearly everyone, and practically no one would consider freedom of expression and speech. She should have expected negative response from people. Some opinions are better to be kept to yourself, no matter how free the speech is in a country.

Also, can I ask you, are you for or against same-sex marriage?

Is that a reason to deny every single homosexual their rights? If so, it reminds me of Kristallnacht, the night were the Germans got revenge on the Jews for one guy who killed an officer.

That is horrible. Gays should be allowed to marry, for reasons already mentioned in the Same-Sex Marriage thread. I think it will take a long time before the world realize this.

Does separation of Church and State say anything to you? Last time I checked, marriage was a legal contract independent of religious beliefs.

What if I said having a religion isn't right? How do you define right?
