Movies Paranormal Activity

Has anyone seen it?

I have.. and to be honest, I thought it wasnt scary at all.

(I removed the whole thing I wrote about the movie. It made the thread look messy, lol.)

Anyway, here is what the movie is about:
After a young, middle class couple moves into a suburban 'starter' tract house,
they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic
but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.

It is filmed like the Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield; from a video camera.

I wasn't really scared either, but I was still able to appreciate Oren Peli's fine directing. It seems like most modern horror movies make you want to throw up, this one doesn't do that and instead aims to truly frighten you.

If you want to be scared choose another horror movie, maybe one you've heard about but know next to nothing about.

Where did you see the alternate ending? I'm interested.

I have to admit, there have been a few times since I've seen it that I've thought about something being behind me. It's actually scarier after the movie than before, since you start thinking about it happening to you. For example, the door in my room is always opening and closing because of the wind from my window. After seeing the movie, its kinda creepy when my door opens and closes, even though I know its the wind. It's definitely scarier/creepier after seeing it than while seeing it.

The movie was good, and like I said, it would probably be scarier watching it if I watched it at night by myself. Even though I've already seen it now, I think I will still be scared if I watch it at my house.

Also, I didnt see the alternate ending, but I heard about it. This movie was made in 2007, and Spielberg changed the original ending to current one, which I think was a big mistake.
Spoilers:
I don't think any harm should've befell her, she's the only real trace of humanity in the film. You can't help but feel sorry for her.

Here are the alt. endings:
1: After she wakes up at the end and stares at her boyfriend, she leaves the room, and like in the movie, she screams and the BF comes running out. Instead of her throwing him though, she comes back to the room without him. She has a knife in her hand, and has blood on her. She goes in front of the camera and cuts her throat.

2: I guess the same thing happens, but instead of cutting her throat, she just stands in the room for days and her friend comes over, and she kills the friend.

I like the 1st one better. I wish they didnt change it.

Dracophile is currently writing the screenplay for MCCP (the movie).

I wasn't a fan of Blair Witch Project (which has the same filming style as this movie) but I didn't hate it either. I give PA major points for being suspenseful and having a decently mobile plot, it's a breath of fresh air for a genre that has basically become a gore fest. And furthermore grossing $66.6M so far on a budget of $15,000 is something to behold as well. Paramount Pictures has already greenlit a sequel.

I watched this movie. It gave me a nightmare. D:

Spoiler (kinda):

Remember the scene where the girl is being dragged out of the bed? Well, in my nightmare, I was being dragged out of my bed. It felt so real... D:

Still, I really liked the idea of the movie. It was good.

People at school told me how terrifying it was. I saw it and I didn't think it was that scary. Creepy and eerie but not terrifying..

I would love to see this movie.
Anything eerie or freaky is good in my books.

It wasn't scary at all. I was surprised at the end, but not really scared. It was a huge disappointment after I heard what everyone was saying about it.

I saw PA on the internet with a group of chatters, we made fun of it and after that movie we saw pokemon then zombieland. Paranormal was one of the weakest horror movies I have ever seen, 1.3/5.
Just horrible.
Blair Witch was okay, but PA imo isn't worth the money unless you're easily scared.
OH MICAH!
