Naruto Shippuden to Disney XD

Disney did not do a bad job. I did however, not like how they replaced the ending sequence with a slide show.

• Disney did a terrible job.
  • Removed the ending credits with some crappy slideshow of pictures. Mostly pictures of Granny Chiyo who isn't very relavant to the story except for saving Gaara.
  • Edited out the best scene in Episode 1 where Sasuke swings his Kusangi blade around Naruto's neck.
  • Removed so many scenes.
  • Filtered so many words that simply HAD to be there in order for the watcher to understand.
  • Took three commercial breaks. The last one was just to show the upcoming episode. Really?
  • Instead of Naruto's Sexy Jutsu, it became "Cutie Jutsu" and "Hottie Jutsu"

I am not impressed at all.
They butchered the series from the gate. My advice to everyone if they want to watch the dubbed version
is to wait for it's release on YouTube or another site where it's unfiltered or simply watch the subbed version.

I feel called to note that they do this for more than just Naruto, I 'm pretty sure they've even done it for some of their own shows. If that makes a difference to any of you, I don't know.

Yeah. Episode 1, didn't notice much beside the slide show, and the word "kill" being replaced with "Destroy."

After episode one, it went down hill. DEIDARA DIDN'T EVEN LOSE HIS ARM!

My neighbor who's seven years old just started watching it on Disney XD.

He now has his own Zabuza sword from Wal-Mart.

It's really, really annoying.

Disney is inevitably going to edit out all the best fight scenes that come along later in the story and make Naruto their newest equivalent of Power Rangers or something. The fact of the matter is that it was made for teens not eight year olds and it shouldn't be butchered up and made into something 'kid-friendly' just because it is an animated show (it seems that there are hardly any animated shows that air in America nowadays that are aimed at anyone over the age of 13).

And eventually Disney will realize that they're trying to force a show onto the wrong age group when the show's ratings start going down, or they'll determine that the show is too violent for their network and they'll toss it aside like Cartoon Network did.

Disney airing Naruto is quite the wrong combination and it's doubtful that anybody will really benefit from this.

You do realise they don't ACTUALLY swear in the Japanese, Naruto airs at 7PM japanese time, so it's family tv time, it's just subbers adding it for effect/It's an easier, simpler translation. So Disney wouldn't be "editing out" swearing, they just wouldn't put what wasn't there in the first place.

Naruto along with shippuuden are still fairly light anime, there's no major gore happening, It's not as if Disney have acquired rights to Higurashi/Umineko no naku koro ni, that might be something to rage about, because lol blood and guts all over the place.

Most are overreacting to this, of course Shippuuden was going to get dubbed, but I can't see the fact that Disney XD have acquired rights to air it would have been way massively super large different to if funimation or some other company got it. If you don't like how they transfer it over then just don't watch it, It's really not that hard .-.

EDIT: Okay reading through maybe disney are going slightly extreme here...but meh, No one's forcing you to watch it. Disney want to bring Naruto to a younger audience, so they're going to make it for a younger audience, Dont count it as butchered, more as...re-imagining?

Not saying I'll like the translation across, I'll probably hate it, but I know I can watch it online when it's subbed anyway.

Watch, Disney is going to Youtube next. Partner up with Google and make it even worse. Google already screwed up the layouts of the channels, and then WMG etc. comes in and screws everyone's videos. What else can Disney do to Youtube? I'm pretty positive they can find a way since they already ruined Marvel, and Club Penguin.
