Hi, It's Shades here.

I noticed that over the past few days this forum has been open that some users have already recieved Rule Violator rank (some have Double and Triple), and someone has even been Perma-Banned because of their posts and attitude they bring to this forum. This guide has been made to tell some of the people of this forum who arent as mature on this forum as they should be at 13 or over how to be a Mature and Respected user of this forum and be looked up to as role models, just like Vital Viper and SteveTParkin are.

Please read the whole thing, and I don't expect someone to post 1 minute after I submit this thread, as they won't have read it.

As some of the people who are on this forum spend their days posting and posting because they think their reputation will boost because of this, are wasting their time. One user on this forum (Mentioning no names) has posted 178 times in the first two days of joining! (That works out at around 47 posts per day) Although all of this users posts are quality posts, this really isn't needed. Users here are leading a boring life if you spend all day on the internet posting on this forum. We'd all still like you to post on this forum, but not by spending hours on end doing so. Remember, it's Quality, not Quantity.

....Another issue is the 35 Characters rule. Some users here have started to put 202020 or blahblahblah at the end of their posts because they want to get over the 35 Characters rule. This really isn't needed. If your post isn't more then 2 - 3 sentences long or doesn't include important information then it isn't a quality post (With the exception of just answering what the thread owner has asked you (eg. Do you own a PS1, or a PS3?)).

....Another issue is that people are answering questions too many times. A user asked posted a topic in the Help/Support Section asking 'What Party Did the Propeler Cap come from?'. As soon as I saw this thread, I answered it, and when I saw it the next day, there were 4 PAGES of users answering this users question, which wasn't needed because I'd already answered it for him/her. So, DON'T POST IF SOMEONE HAS ALREADY ANSWERED THE USERS QUESTION BEFORE YOU.

....Don't Backseat mod. Some users have already been banned or given a Rule Violator rank becuase of this. If a topic has something in that isn't suitible or is spam don't post and say 'OMG THIS IS SPAM!!!! RFS LOCK THIS PLEASE!!1' (or something along these lines), just report it by clicking the :mod: symbol on the users post if needed, or just ignore it.

....Only post if you have something useful to post. Some threads in the glitch/bugs forum have been replied with 'Nice Find!' or 'I already knew this but nice find!'. This isn't a quality post.

....Keep on the right side of the rules. If you don't know what they are, Click Here. (http://penguinforum.miniclip.com/showthread.php?p=1#post1) If you get on the wrong side of the rules, You'll probably be given a Rule Violator rank or a warning. The rules are there for a reason. They arent there for you to abuse and disobey. The Mods are here to try to make this place a fun and successful forum, and they probably hate giving people bans or another warning as much as you don't want them given to you.

....Post something different to everyone else. Don't post a guide on how to get the Viking Helmets, because there's been hundreds of threads about them already. No-one has posted a guide like I have now, Have they? So be original, and post a thread on something that no-one has posted before.

....Search before you post. If you don't know how to do this, click the Search button which is on the same row as the User CP Panel link is. Type your question in there, and then there is your answer. If you nothing comes up when you search, only put in specific words, like ‘Gold Viking Helmet’, and not ‘Where is the gold Viking helmet?’

....d0tn tYp3 LyK D1SS. Why? Because no-one can read it. It’s stupid, and we don’t use text talk on this forum. Type properly and don’t use abbreviations like 2 and others. This is because 2 could mean anything, Click here (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=2) to find out (may be innapropriate, don't click unless your 13, but you shouldn't even be here anyway.)

....By having this new Club Penguin forum is suppost to be helping the community of users turn over a new leaf, not to abuse and spam attack. We were giving the Miniclip Forums a bad reputation by some of the users spamming the whole forum and invading other forums too, so do you want us all to turn over a new leaf? 99% of us will probably say yes.

Thanks for taking your time to read this, and I hope we can see a big improvement in the posting standard on this forum in the next few months.

Shades.

I'd say it's a fairly well written guide and you put a lot of thought into it. The guide basically reiterates the rules by showing the users that they can be a good poster if they follow these guidelines. Nonetheless, I think it would help users out. Great job. :P

'OMG THIS IS SPAM!!!! RFS LOCK THIS PLEASE!!1'

I'm actually only active in the Support forum and in the Staff's forum here. :P

Normally I only attend to reported posts if several people have reported them, because then it's usually something serious -- otherwise it's just "hay he sed dat u can b a ninja how/".

You really get those kind of reports? Thats not even fit for a report.

Shades, well done. This basically restates the rules, but people don't read them anyway.

I's like to post a link to the spell check program I use. It'd be here (http://www.iespell.com/download.php). Doesn't help you with grammar though(which people need help with).

It's a nice guide but you basically re-posted the rules again.

Sticky this for sure even though we ALREADY had one like this

We get reports for all sorts os really small things, most of which don't even need to be reported. People think the report button is a way to contact the user (we get all sorts of "email-ish replies" in the reason field) or some people just report random nice posts from people they don't like.

Spamming with the report button is bannable just so you all know. :P

Your right, it is kinda restating the rules, but nonetheless, I think it'll help others.

Idea: Why don't you make a thread in each Sub Forum with the rules in? Maybe that way people will stick to them.

That's a very well put together guide. I made one exactly like that on the old forums, but that one is clearly better than mine. You've outdone yourself here Shades;)

If you read the first line of the rules, it's in red and underlined. It says that it is a law not a rule. The reason why other forums do is that they are either small fan forums (ie. fining them would be impossible, they can only shut them down), they have the same rules or they have a permit/licesense. Permits are hard to get by and the filtering system would have to be a lot more extensive and complex.

Although I think that this should be why people should be respected, people usually respect the older members, members with higher post counts, etc. And, being a fun, funny, happy user adds to the respect meter.

Either way, nice guide.
