Has anyone here read "The Giver" Before? I did and i found it really good. My favorite part was when Jonas and Gabirel run away to go find elsewhere.
Your Thoughts?

I love that book. I did a report on it, and I read it three times. My favorite part(s) are when the Giver transmits memories of sledding injuries, the Civil War, and Christmas to Jonas. They were very descriptive.

I had to read it last year in my seventh grade class. It was rather interesting, but it wouldn't exactly be in my top ten.

Yeah, That was a really good part. Also when they are in the ceremony and jonas has to wait till last to get his name picked thats a good part to.

I was thinking about making a thread for this book today, lol.
I thought it was a really good book. The ending is kind of sad, but overall the book is cool.

I personally didn't like it that much and I'm not really into science fiction either. The only reason I read it was because I had to read it in school when I was in 7th or 8th grade as part of the curriculum. Its just not my style. I'm sure if I was into science fiction I would enjoy it a lot more.

I had to read it in my fifth-grade class, and I thought it was an amazing book. It was so descriptive and thought-provoking! It is kind of sad though... it would be an EXTREMELY scary world if they "banished" everyone when they got old...
I know what you're thinking, "NO! They didn't banish them, they..." HUSH! I don't want to give away the surprise for anyone who hasn't read it!

That book has to be the best book I have ever read. It can be very confusing sometimes
but it is a great great book. :)

I read it in like 5th grade for a book report and the book wasn't that bad, but wasn't that memorable either.
