I am a huge Yankees fan which means i would like to say Alex Rodriguez is the best player in the leauge but i cant. albert Pujols with his presence, defensive ability, batting average, home runs, and rbi's. Who do you think is the best player in the MLB?

Ramon Ortiz FTW! He's on my fantasy team and he's 3-0 with about a 1.50 ERA.
I voted for Johan.

Well, so far, I would pick A-rod(9 HRs), but you should've put Derek Jeter. He's done some crazy plays....
For last year, I would say Johan Santana.
EDIT: I voted for A-Rod

Out of them, I say David Ortiz, but out of everyone, I say that Matsusaka person on the Red Sox. I forgot his first name though.

It's easily Albert Pujols.
The guy is a great player and he's the best hitter in the game, without a doubt. He's hit over 40 HR's and 110 RBI's in every season so far in the majors, and he's only like 27, so he's still young, yet he's already amazing. Plus he always has a batting average over .320, and he also always has a great OBP and Slugging percentage.
At 27, he's already won: MVP, ROY, Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, Voted to every All-Star game, he's hit the most HR's in April than any other player in the history of the league (he set that record last year), and he's a hitting machine.
This guy puts up great numbers every year. Sure, he's off to a slow start this year, but so are a lot of other people like Lee, Manny Ramirez, and Ryan Howard. Pujols will heat up, just like he does every year. He's consistent, and he's easily the best hitter in the game. He's awesome, and nobody can debate that.

Oooo but you see my dear friend the cardnels are having a horrible season!!! AND they the DEFENDIN WRLD CHAMPS!! Albert hasnt been very hot lately neither has A-Rod but either Johan or Papi is best so far cant decide and also even tho he's not on the list i'd say Josh Beckett because his record is 6-0 so he is hot for the sox
