No it doesn't. There are certain conditions in most countries, which makes it legal for the army and police to have guns, but no one else.

Crime rate isn't measured that way. It is normally measured in percentage and crime per 100,000 people for example.

I haven't heard on the news lately in England that ANYONE has escaped from prison and I never have. I don't know about America though.

After being arrested, they will then be interviewed by the police. The police can decided to charge them or not. If they are charged, then the police either decide to put them in a cell or let them go home, until the court case starts. They will then have to go to court, and if they don't turn up to court, then they will be tracked down by the police.

Ehh, the only reason why the whole "Right to bear arms" thing exists in America in the first place is because back when the amendments were written, there weren't any police to help you, since most people worked on farms and junk anyways. Nowadays we have police, so the whole point of that amendment has been nullified, since it was put into place for the sake of protection anyways. Now we have police, so yeah.

Also, stop posing all these "what if" scenarios. The question "what if" can go on forever. Guns are common here, and I know darn well that most of the people here aren't using guns for self-defence. Don't want people going "LOL SHOOTS CHILD" on the roleplay all the time anyways.

I know this seems a little conspiracy theory-ish, but what if there comes a time you have to protect yourself from the police? Anyone can become corrupt. Most people are corrupt, even policemen.

Guns don't just disappear from the face of the universe. If a government employee writes something on a piece of paper not everyone will follow along. Violent people will get guns, and if they don't get guns, there's always knives, bombs, and running people over.

Guns should be banned. Though, I would suspect the Mafia and the Resistance will get their hands on them somehow. Though, I think shop owners and the police/SWAT should have one. The shop owners should have a small pistol, though the police/SWAT have a better one.
