I'm new at this, so bear with me.
My uPick Forum is now up! This is the thread where all of the rules will be, please read them all carefully before applying.

================================================== ===

Plot

================================================== ===

We all hate someone on here. Well, here's your chance to kill them!

There will be a thread labeled "VICTIMS". Beforehand, please contact the person who you would like the kill (Via AIM, MSN, Xat, Yahoo, etc.), and organize the plot to murder them. Only you and your victim shall know the murder plan.

The victim shall post a thread about their death, and will not be able to post until the murderer is identified. Other forumers will try and figure out who killed them.
You MAY leave hints in your posts/threads leading them to find out that you killed them.

Example:

Find the hint? I hope. It was kind of obvious.

================================================== =======

Detectives

================================================== =======

If you are neither a murderer or a victim, you are a detective. If you figure out who the killer is, then you are rewarded with a cool badge that I will make. It will have your name on it.
It will look something like this.

http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/kogeck/badge.png

Good luck!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few rules...

1. No cheating
2. No threads asking/begging to be picked as a victim.
3. You MUST organize your murder in private.
4. If you are the killer and are found out/ guessed, you CANNOT deny it.
5. Please check in with me of who the murderer/ victim is before posting. E-mail me or contact me at kogeck@hotmail.com.
6. If you are a victim, it would be kind of you NOT to post until you are saved. If it's absolutely necessary, then by all means, post.
7. If you are a detective, you MUST have at least 1 reason to support your theory of the alleged murderer.
8. If the murderer isn't found by 12 hours, the victim may post 1 hint as to who might have killed them.

A few tips...
For the killer-

1. Pick someone random, not like your known best friend or worst enemy, as it will be obvious.
2. Leave subtle hints scattered everywhere... like a scavenger hunt.

For the detectives-

1. Look for hints as to who may be linked to the murder. Check recent posters, threads, forums.
2. Check who's online and scan there. Odds are that they will be online at the time.
3. Don't be naive. Consider EVERYONE a possible murderer.

IMPORTANT: Once you're ready with the murder plot, PLEASE e-mail me or add me on MSN.
kogeck@hotmail.com

I will also be at the SpaceTacos (http://xat.com/spacetacos)chat room.

Please post all guesses as to who the murder is in the victim's Death Thread.

Have fun. :)

Is the killer allowed to post in the thread of his victim?

Yes, but cannot drop any large hints in it.
Kogeck? Can the person who killed them post in their thread?

Yes, as I said, they cannot drop any obvious clues.
Can anyone be a killer/victim?

Yes, but be sure that you organize the murder outside the forums, and that you contact me with the name of the murderer and victim.

Congrats on winning. =D
Can a killer murder twice, and can a victim be a victim twice? Or is it a one time thing?

Yes, they can. That only thickens the plot and makes it twice as hard.

Do you have to ask permission of the victim/killer if you want to use them for your mystery?

I think you need to talk to them otherwise things may go wrong. Like in Gamer and I's thread, one of the clues was my post count and if I posted then it would ruin the hint.

I found a video that would go perfectly with one of the forumers. However, I can't contact them. I think you need to do a thread where both the killer and the victim are unknown.

Can you please explain how that would work?

1. I create a death thread with no one's name (it will just say, "Death Thread")
2. I give clues to both the victim and the killer.

I think that my idea where you have to solve both the killer and the victim would be more challenging to the detectives. Also, it eliminates the need to communicate with someone else when you can't do that.

If this was going in the style of Clue, then why not have the detectives find out what weapon was used?

Because Clue takes hours to play, and you need about 4 people to have a good game. This game is much more simple, and it's quick and easy to do.

I have no idea how you could organize it with the victim in private. How would you be able to do that without people seeing "HEY CAN I BE YOUR KILLER JUST GIMME YOUR EMAIL"

Sorry, I don't want to change the current system; it might confuse the players. Thanks for the suggestion though.

On Xat, you can just click someone's name, and press the "Private Chat" button, and ask them.

Do I have to have a XAT account for that?

As I said in my first post, I go to this chatroom (http://xat.com/spacetacos) usually to discuss murder mystery plans.

I would, but I don't know who to contact. It would be so much easier if I could just do the whole mystery without having to find a partner.

Just go to a xat and ask someone, they will most likely say yes. ;)
