i think hes trying to think of something like the black puffle in one of the missions.

He means that you walk your black puffle to the HQ, choose a mission and your black puffle helps you. (Pink=Aqua Grabber, Red=Surfs up ect.) Although missions only have a direct story. How would setting it on fire in random places help you? Would it talk and give you clues?
