This is a monumental show, really. It's a huge undertaking - and it's going to go nowhere unless it's supported by You. I might get to be the host, but if I've got nothing TO host... well then we've got 15 minutes of me standing there doing nothing. Here's what this show is all about:
MCCP●TV is a series based upon a fictional low-power public access television station named after these forums and named with the FCC naming protocol for public access TV stations. The show is loosely presented by a means similar to educational television shows with content created entirely by the viewers. Each episode has a specific theme and host J. Andre Bardin introduces each clip before it rolls.
How does this show work?
Simple. Each episode will be planned out in this forum with the directions given. Users are encouraged to follow the given theme of an episode (example: "food") and create a 1 to 3 minute short segment about it. As long as it's a video file and follows the rules of the show it will more than likely be accepted. See episode announcements for specific details and instructions.
How do I submit a movie I made?
First of all do not upload it to YouTube. That makes it public and the surprise will be spoiled. Instead you can utilize a video/file hosting service such as Photobucket or TinyPic to host your film and then email it to me to submit it. From there I'll collect and organize the submissions, shoot the hosting bits, and then string it all together like magic.
Do I have to submit my real name in the credits?
You can if you like, but this is YOUR DECISION. If you would prefer to go by a screenname or nickname that is perfectly acceptable.
What kinds of videos can I make?
ANYTHING GOES. I'll accept animations, filmed video, voiceovers/chops, anything. The only UNIVERSAL requirements for submissions are 1-3 minutes long, video with audio/narration (no ten second Pivot animations), and at least some form of production value. Please do not include openings or credits to submissions - credits will be rolled all at once with proper credit given at the end of the episode. Openings will be trimmed off. You are more than welcome to edit and add effects to make your video as you see fit, just no openings or credits.
I don't know how to make videos (or I can't) how can I submit?
If you're unable to make a submission on your own you are more than welcome to team up with someone else for a joint effort production where you'll all be credited for your work. Perhaps some teams need voice talent for a narrated comic or an animation, or some sketch comics need a writer, or perhaps even if you have some friends who also have accounts you can all get together and make your video together. This forum is open for posting so you may ask questions and join up with others if they're asking for help.
Does it have to be funny?
Well, considering this show is just a joke about public access a funny submission would be welcomed (and is encouraged) but if you want to take a different route that is fine as well. It IS public access after all.
What's all of the "legal stuff" I need to know about submitting to MCCP●TV?
Good question. This might be a long answer but it is important. By submitting your video to MCCP●TV you are allowed to keep full ownership rights of your work for you to release on your own later or by itself. We won't claim ownership of your submission - after all you made it. However, by submitting your video to MCCP●TV you are agreeing to give Channel F Productions / Twilight Foundry Films rights to edit your work to incorporate it into the MCCP●TV show or other promotional media. Once a video is submitted it cannot be pulled out of the episode. If the episode is produced and you have a falling out with the community or leave the forums we will be unable to remove your submission from the show (and we will not remove the episode in its entirety either). Again, by submitting your film to MCCP●TV you are granting us "lifetime" usage rights to the video for use in the show. If you disagree with these terms, please do not send a submission.
Are you making a DVD and if so do I get a cut?
Because submitters will be using copyrighted music or video clips we will be unable to produce a DVD of the show to sell. No profits will be made, sorry.
Can we get this started now?
Absolutely, check the other stickies for how to get things done.
