Hey you guys, I have researched what people call the 'April fool's Virus' apparently its a virus sent every year by some guy, last night it was on the news if you saw it. Its a worm type virus also, meaning it doesn't have to be self extracted its automatically in your system, even if you didnt download anything.

so what I found out was the file is extremely bad, and damages your computer database, along with your personal files and such. It takes internet information (Passwords, all copied info, ext..) and sumits it to the person controling the virus.

It was supposed to infect all computers three hours ago, unless you have a great firewall and spyware system(s) be sure their on!

You can catch the virus/worm by going to infected websites or checking spam e-mail.

I used a scanning program on my Internet & Mozilla, and these are big, famous. highly populated INFECTED sites that i found.

I searched the virus file name (AF_worm.bac) bac -- Batch file 'Also its known to be hidden'so all these websites may include other bad files but this one was the only one searched,

and found.

1. Myspace - Found 1 batch file
Status: High

2. wizard101 - Found 1 batch file
Status: High

3. Downloads1000 - Found 1 batch file
Status: High

4. Ragezone forums - Found 1 batch file
Status: High

I looked up other sites like facebook, or club penguin and many more, but they were clean

the four above are infected so be careful!

Recommended~

Dont open any adult content links, it only makes matters worse

Dont open spam emails, if you reconize it save it tpo inbox, And clean

Be sure to have your firewall on if you dont have a good security system go to cnet.com >>

downloads and look for a good one, look at reviews.. its a Microsoft/Mac Downloading site.

On that download site look for the program called Spyware doctor (I recommend) because it blocks all mysterious viruses and files, and tells you, if you want the file you click *No i know this folder*

Be careful

This is not a joke, look it up in google if you would like.. but I know it hurts your pc

pretty bad :(

~ resist...

update - The worm was interrupted by the creator, so it was stopped, but the guy is still aiming to get it working apparently, but it still got to other computers, sadly.

Oh yea.. i doubt anybody here does, but if you know who is the creator, or source of the worm, confess to your county police... $2,500 will be rewarded.. im glad i dont know the person... i would murder him

Murder = Stab him and run away

Are you sure about the batch files?
I am capable of writing basic applications with them. They are .bat files ;)

$250,000 is the bounty from Microsoft, people DO get money from making viruses.

Thank god I have a Mac.
