Josef F Sentenced to LIFE

Austrian Josef Fritzl, who kept his daughter in a cellar and fathered her seven children, has been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Fritzl, 73, was found guilty of all charges against him, including rape, incest, murder and enslavement.



He showed no obvious emotion at the verdict, telling the court that he accepted it and would not appeal.



The court ordered that Fritzl should serve his life sentence in a secure psychiatric facility.



The judge said he could speak to his lawyer but he shook his head. Then he was led out of court with an impassive face.

Thank god! Finally that lunatic will be locked up for the rest of his life. It was disgusting how he kept his own daughter in his cellar as a sex slave. And then he fathered her 7-ish children, in which I believe at least one died. Seriously, hearing about it really makes me boil up inside and feel really angry. Personally I think he should have been given a much worse sentence. Bring back the death penalty!

He locked his daughter in a basement and you don't think he should be tortured?
He might have problems but still, he did a cruel thing and he should be punished.

He definitely does deserve torture. Well I think so... When his daughter gave birth to newborn twins, he killed one of them and burnt the body in an oven.

Well maybe the torture will come from the other prisoners in the jail. They would obviously know about what he did and then give him a hell.

Yeah, we already know that, but he does deserve it.
In France, we stopped capital punishment in 1981 (the last execution was in 1979, though). We used the guillotine, which is very speedy and doesn't make any pain. The electric chair does make pain. It really does.

It's not as if he had brain problems anyway. I am not saying he is normal, I am saying that he knew what he was doing was just wrong. We have a horrible tendency these last few years to release malicious people on the basis that "they killed someone => they must be mad => if they're mad, it's not their fault". It was horribly enraging to see a purely evil serial child-killer to be put in a mental hospital for a few years instead of prison for life this month. Please help it stop.

According to the the Fritzl case's wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritzl_case), his oldest daughter is 19 while his oldest son is 18.

My dad said, once he gets out of the asylum, and into Jail, he won't last long. Apparently, even the guys who'd be in his cell (max security) would dispise him. And weapons aren't uncommon in Jail.

He deserved it. He's a sick, he doesn't deserve a prison cell. Stick him in a hole somewhere, and feed him just enough of whatever they eat in prison to keep him alive and suffering.
