to make animations, if your using windows, use windows movie maker, you can make em on paint! :D (for free)
but, if you wanna make like, videos, then, you have to get a webcam, or a camera with that ability(preferably webcam)

First of all you need something with a lens on it before you're going to get any kind of video or imagery whatsoever. If you only have a camera capable of taking stills, then you'd have to resort to stopmotion or claymation, or narrative comics.
If you have Windows, it should have come with a program called Windows Movie Maker which is simple and easy to use and capable of some basic entertaining videos. No bells and whistles.
edit: Animation isn't my bag of tricks so I can't help you there.

Oh well if you use a screen recorder (didn't know that's what you meant sorry) then normally they have a feature to export to a couple of different video formats, an from there you can edit them in Windows Movie Maker and add your effects and narrations and stuff like that.

You could use a tool such as Dvovler (http://www.dvolver.com/live/home.html) (I haven't used it) for actually making a movie.
Or if you want to edit video, you could try these programs Zs4 (http://www.zs4.net/), JahShaka (http://jahshaka.org/), wax (http://www.debugmode.com/wax/), Jumpcut (http://www.jumpcut.com/), orAvidemux (http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/).
I haven't used any of the software above.
Or you could use Blender (http://www.blender.org/) for 3d animation.
Edit: Once you get far enough to actually editing a video I'll fill you in on the basics.
Edit2: I cant find Windows Movie Maker when I search for it on my computer. Should i search it on google and download? Can u give me a good link?

I don't see where I can download Windows Movie Maker in that link. Do I have to use that if I get a screen recorder? Or could I just use one of the other things you showed me,

If you use windows, Windows Movie Maker is in your computer.
Start > All Programs > Windows Movie Maker

It has instructions on the bottom of the page.
You could use any of the things I showed to you above (except blender), but they're probably more complicate than windows movie maker.

My two cents.
Windows Movie Maker - otherwise know as "WMM" - does not come with a screen recorder. WMM is used to edit videos, and put them into the correct format for YouTube.
If you are looking for a screen recorder, I would suggest; CamStudio (http://camstudio.org/), HyperCam (http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/), AutoScreenRecorder (http://wisdom-soft.com/products/autoscreenrecorder.htm) or ZDSoft (http://www.zdsoft.com/).
Animations can be done with WMM - ask me if you'd like to do animations, and I do my best to help you out.

Camstudio is a good program for screen recording. It leaves no marks unlike hypercam.
As for animations, I use GIMP or Babarosa Gif Animator. You can figure out what to do with animations afterwards.
Flash is a nice and complicated program for animations too, but you have to buy it.
