I've been looking over show and series ideas that have been suggested to me or have come up in random discussions with my friends and video partners, and this particular one caught my attention. "The Miniclip Information Agency Presents: MCCP-TV" is a sketch comedy and variety series with content created by the users and viewers and presented/organized by myself with short segments connecting everything together. It's a way for everyone who's creative with filming, voiceover, animation, and modeling to have their clips be part of a series.

In summary, each "episode" (which is expected to take anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes) is given a specific theme, which is also its title (example: "Food", "Animals", "Pokemon"). Everything submitted for that episode must have something to do with the theme (examples: cooking, cartoons where all of the characters are food, etc). The show is presented to mimic programs broadcast on public access television stations, keeping with the theme of the name of this forum ("Funding for MCCP-TV is provided by Viewers Like You - THANK YOU!"). Also in keeping touch with the public access "roots" of this subforum everyone gets a voice on the show... kind of like how you're legally allowed a voice on public TV.

It's an idea I'd be willing to try in coming months if there's enough users who would be willing to participate and submit short films - so please vote in the poll. :)

This is an alright idea. It is sorta like how Spem did the Caramelldancen. I wish I could contribute but I don't have a video camera. -_-

Is there anything else I can do?

If the show goes through you could always buddy up with someone and voice a cartoon or co-write something - still be in the credits. :P

I could always be a producer! ;D Even though I have no idea what I would do as a producer, but I am Jewish, so that should be enough to get me the job. :P

But really there isn't an easier way to get in the credits?

Save for making something or being in a group of people with a submission, then no unfortunately.

I'd only be able to film when I'm home alone, but yes, I'll contribute.

Caution!

I like this idea, and I make stupid videos all the time when I'm bored. I'd contribute to this for sure!

This would be great. You have a lot of talent on this forum and the topics that you mentioned would be appropriate for this commumity to pursue. Your videos are always hysterical....my little brother gives his stamp of approval, too.:P

This would be something fun to do! I was thinking about making a new dance vid with MCCP forumers in it since I found a good song, but this idea is better. :)

So now that we've got 13 people who supposedly voted that they would be willing to contribute - would anyone care to talk about the kind of work they can do? Just wondering so I know if we're going to have a bunch of filmed video or if we're going to have any animations, voice overs, narrated comics, etc. :)

I would film myself running into a wall.

I have my Flip camera which allows you to view my videos on youtube in high quality. I can do basically anything. I have friends come over all the time and we make random videos. Right now we are working on short clips of us using airsoft gun and using them as if they were real.

Some shorts in ours is the two heads one shot, infiltrating, and the assassin.

Since I can't film any of it, mabye I can write some stuff?

I'd love to write some "political" sketches. Or I could write normal jokes/sketches.

If I could think of something to do, I'd do it.
I guess I could do some voice-overs for someone.

I really wish I could animate or something, because I'd love to help.

LOL

I can make animations for it. I can provide jokes too.

Looks like we have a lot of people interested, so after this fiasco with the MAP video presentations I'll get started on some of the back-end work for this series and we can all make a fantastical trial episode to see how it'll work out. Here are some specialized mentions to specific users...

To everyone doing animations:
Animations are fine and dandy, but we aren't exactly going to be looking for a 10 second Pivot animation of someone falling down the stairs. We are kind of looking for something along the lines of 1 to 3 minutes long with audio (voices, music, etc). More than likely the animators with Flash are the ones best suited for submitting cartoons.

To everyone bummed out about the above statement:
There are other completely acceptable ways of doing other forms of animation. Voiced-over comic strips and slideshows are acceptable, as are stop motion videos and claymations.

To everyone who is probably going to make a video:
It is safe to "assume the worst", which I mean "assume that a LOT of people are going to submit something" - so the 1 to 3 minute suggestion applies here as well. There's going to be more videos than anything else I'm assuming and I'd like to have a balanced presentation of videos, animations, and other submissions so naturally not everything is going to get used, or things might get cut down to fit the time. 20 to 30 minutes for a full episode is ok, but longer submissions dragging it to an hour isn't going to work.

To everyone wondering for suggestions on what kinds of videos to make:
Regularly filmed skits and shorts
Flash animations
Narrated comic strips & slideshows
Claymation
Redubbed (or chopped & redubbed) anime/TV shows
Have something not on the list? Feel free to ask about it.

To everyone wanting to participate but can't do videos or animations:
Feel free to ask other people who ARE contributing if they need writing or voice talent for their projects, the more people involved the better because then I can make the credits 8 and a half minutes long or something.

To everyone wondering how they are going to submit things:
I'll figure this out later. Probably though, we will just end up emailing me links to files hosted on SOMETHING NOT BLOCKED BY THE FILTER and stuff. More on this when the time comes though.

Claymation

I took a claymation class over the summer. I have a disk of what I did, but the problem is it's in a weird movie format for macs. I can still play it in Windows Media Player, but I need a converter so I can edit the video so it's just what I made and not the whole classes....and the credits with my last name in it.

I tried this media converting site but the file is so big it took forever to convert it so I gave up. I'll see what I can do.

So basically a sketch-comedy type show like SNL. How would the participants submit media, as a video or otherwise?

If your claymation happens to fit into the "theme" of an episode feel free to send it in. Just a heads up, for trial purposes the first episode is going to be "Food" more than likely.

Yep exactly like that, it's like an SNL where every sketch has some kind of connecting theme.

Submissions might be tricky, but I am thinking the BEST way to go about doing it is to let the creators upload their work onto a file-hosting website and email me a link. It would be cool if nobody saw what everyone else was making.

Chicken is food I don't see why not. I don't know what the birdie song is though. If things go well and we end up making a miniseries out of this then there is also an episode titled "Animals".

TinyPic could work out the best, for uploading and sending the stuff to you.

I could also try some claymation, I've done some before.

TinyPic FAQ:

Video files cannot be larger than 100 Megabytes or longer than 5 minutes. If you upload a video longer than 5 minutes it will be truncated to 5 minutes.
Acceptable video types are: 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3p, asf, avi, divx, dv, dvx, flv, moov, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpe, mpeg, mpg, qt, wmv, xvid, rmSo I guess TinyPic is a no. Photobucket has the same limits.

100 MB is a lot of wiggle room to work with. I just uploaded a HQ 8 minute screener of Let's Play to YouTube last night and it was only 500 MB (but that was on optimum full screen settings, not standard definition for Internet broadcast). Since I really only wanted to work with shorter videos, in the range of 2 to 4 minutes about, TinyPic seems like it might prove to be the BEST option... also because it is easy to use. :)

When are we gonna do this? I should film myself drinking 12 oz of honey even though you feel sick afterwards and put it in random parts of the video as I progress. xD

I was still kind of wrestling with the MAP video thing before I started this - but instead I'll just get some other work out of the way and we can start on this soon. Unlike the MAPs this is something that I know for a fact I can actually DO.

Do a stunt themed one, iWaddle will do his dangerous "drinking honey without puking" stunt, and I'll drive my hippy van [RC] off a ramp I am making.

EDIT: I made the [crappy] ramp, and it works, though my steering is like a turd. I need practice, but the car runs on four AA batteries, so I don't have long.

I cant [possibly] get to angles; "spectator" and "car view".
