View Full Version : Achievement Unlocked - Rules, Guidelines, and a general welcome

Welcome to Achievement Unlocked, a prospective new addition to the forums that gives MCCP an Xbox 360 twist - points and achievements for doing certain tasks or attending specific events in the forum. It's a way to inspire activity globally and get users involved in the community while having fun in doing so. Right off the bat I need to mention however, that these achievements are not automatic. There's a complete list of achievements posted and we're running on "the honor system". You can lie and say you've unlocked some of the difficult ones, but what's the fun in that? It's much better when you can look at your collection and admire all of the crazy little things you've done to amass that collection of icons and points.
Here's the rules for this subforum:
1. All normal forum rules apply here. Post count is on, no spamming.
2. Some of these achievements involve infractions and/or bans. These achievements are not an excuse to willfully violate rules and get into trouble.
3. Don't cheat. It's not a punishable offense to cheat, but it's really tacky and it ruins the fun. Be honest and you'll see that these achievements are a lot more fun and rewarding!
4. Don't be an elitist. These are all for fun. If you have more than someone else don't make a big deal about it.
Achievements FAQ & Guidelines:
Q. Do these achievements automatically unlock and add up in my profile?
A. No, they do not unfortunately. Some of the requirements of the achievements are simply not possible to be tracked by the forums so you will have to take note of what you have and haven't done.
Q. How do I update my Gamerscore and total achievements in my profile?
A. "Gamerscore", "Gamerzone", and "Achievements Unlocked" are all editable fields on the edit profile page (http://penguinforum.miniclip.com/profile.php?do=editprofile).
Q. Do things that I've done on the old forums count towards achievements here? (Ex: "Stay on the forums for 2 years")
A. Yes.
Q. Can I use the achievement icons as my avatar or signature?
A. Absolutely! You may show off your favorite or proudest accomplishments in your avatar or signature.
Q. What if somebody lies about their score?
A. They're just ruining it for themselves. We aren't going to keep track and delete scores of those who cheat. The users who keep it fair for themselves and others are the ones who will enjoy this system the most.
Q. These are great will there be more???
A. If they go over well absolutely. There's two "expansion packs" worth of more achievements full of other fun goals that we just couldn't fit into the original set of 101 and 1000 points.
Q. How do I unlock "__________" achievement?
A. Most of them have clear descriptions. If you are unsure, then you can post a thread in here and we can clarify it for you.
Q. Are any of these achievements impossible?
A. No. They are ALL achievable but some are "extremely difficult".
Q. Can I keep track of my achievements in this forum?
A. Not in this one, but there is a subforum here where you can post a thread to keep track of your progress and discuss your progress and other users' as well.
Q. What did you make the icons in?
A. Adobe Flash CS3 Professional.
Q. Can I make up my own achievements?
A. Sure! Feel free to come up with suggestions and ideas or funny achievements of your own, but please note that they won't be a part of the OFFICIAL list of achievements unless we choose to use one of them.
Q. How did you post 101 images in the thread where they are all listed?
A. Reptile magic. ;)

Question:
Do achievements carry over from the old forum such as, be a member for 2 years?
Or does mean of this forum, and if that's it, do they carry over from other accounts?

Stuff from the old forums carry over, I probably should have put that in the first post. I'll add that now. :)

So, does it count if Ben posted in one of my thread in Miniclip forums? :O

I think it shouldn't count for everything though.

Well, if you can go back and check then sure, but all of the old CP threads are gone - so really it only applies to whether or not you've had an account there and how long you were on the forums. For example, this year I'll be getting the "5 year" achievement.

One question, is it true that you did some of the achievements just to benefit you and have all the 102 achievements and everyone else don't? A clear example is the 5 year achievement and the "OMAIGOD DRACO'S JOB STOLEN" achievement.:P

How many licks does it take to get to the center of Dracophiles job?
(Basicly, will I ever get that achievement).

A handful of the achievements are actually impossible for me (and Mods in some cases) to get. Examples are all of the achievements that involve doing something to/with me. As far as it goes, I can quote myself but that's about it. I can't get infractions from myself... I can't get infractions period because I'm an Administrator, so that puts all of them out of the picture. I also can't be my own girlfriend so that's another unachievable one (also for the guys - maybe if you're special enough I can go bi for you lmbo). None of the achievements are impossible for normal users though, some might be exceedingly difficult... but those are worth 0 points and are mostly jokes.
The 5-year achievement is entirely possible in due time. The CP forums have been around for 3 years already. There are going to be some users who can take the 1 and 2 year achievements right away if they had an account on the old forums.

So, wait I created an account on the normal Miniclip forum in 2006 and only joined this Club Penguin forums last year but does that mean I still get the two year achievement?

That achievement is kinda stupid imo. Because some people will join to the forums before they are 13 to get a simple achievement.

For the sake of the community let's just assume that the criteria for meeting the achievements has to be met in the Club Penguin Forums only. "Club Penguin Forums" can be defined as these ones we are currently using, or the small subforum we had from March '06 to March '07.

Register a new username and have your old one banned.
Would that one count for me because I had the account Coin Eater too? Because in July 2007 I confessed to being underage, got banned for a year, and sometime later in March(?) 2008 I made Coin Eater under your noses while still being underage.
Edit: Same thing with the "Get Permabanned by any means" achivement. Coin Eater got perma'd, so can that one count for me? :P
