Strings
String names are very important. If you do not know the strings, it will be a long way through learning to play guitar. Lets start out with the 1st string(thinnest). This is called the high E string. The 2nd string(below the 1st) is called the b string. The 3rd string is called the G string(lol sorry had to laugh at this). The 4th string is called the D string. The 5th string is called the A string. The 6th and final string is called the low E string.
Knowing these strings will help you while we tab some things out or help out while you learn your chords.
Tuning
There are many ways to tune your guitar. But since you are just starting out I would recommend a digital tuner. You can pick them up at pretty much any music store. But if for some reason you don't want to or you can't get one, then this is another way to tune your guitar.
The other way to tune your guitar is to tune only your low E string(you can tune it all but if you can only tune the low E string this is the way to tune the rest.) by going to this site.http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/onlinetuner.html
This site will help you a lot in tuning. So once you have tuned your low E string, hold the 5th fret down on the low E string and play it. Right after you play that, play the A string open(without putting your fingers on the frets of it). Adjust the A string using the twisters on the head of the guitar so that it has the same pitch as the 5th fret on the low E string. Next put your finger on the 5th fret of the A string and play it. Then after that play the D string open. Do what you did in the first step in this step. Keep doing this until you are ready to tune the B string. For the B string, you must put your fingers on the 4TH fret of the G string and then play B open. And adjust it to the sound of the 4th fret of the G string. Then for the remaining strings that you need to tune, go back to the 5th fret on the B string and play the high E open.
Congratz, you have tuned your guitar.
Chords
Good job! You have got knowledge of your strings and you have a tuned guitar. Pretty good. But now it's time to learn some chords. Chords are like notes and are used in many songs. Remember this is just the basics of the guitar, so I am not going to bombard you with chords. But here are a few.
G chord- Put your ring finger on the 3rd fret of the high E string. Then put your index finger on the 2nd fret of the A string. Last, you put your middle finger on the 3rd fret of the low E string.

Practice these and then go to the song section.

I will add more I promise. But this is just one song I am about to go to bed. So I promise more songs will be added.
Play the chords along with the words as shown
