Alright, while I was listing the reasons I nominated people and after I saw some of the reasons I was nominated I'm actually thinking that most people here have long forgotten my history around here. The answers to the question on the 'How well do you know me' quiz for the approval team surprised me most.
So besides these three things:
1. People like me
2. I have some rarer items (No Beta Hat)
3. I have a catchy name
What events or qualities have made me well known?
Ive taken comments made and cleaned them up a bit. Any comments on what has been noted are also welcome.
-I have and use moderator privileges; Custom Subforums, rank, avys, sigs, and even a custom emote. I've been know in the past to even let users come up with and vote on my rank, as well as using sigs and avies made by other users (some would say that making an avy/sig that I use is an honor and proof that they do quality work).
-I am friends with Draco. As much of an advantage as this sounds it really never made much of a difference. From the start I was popular long before knowing who Draco was and before he was even made a moderator. At first Draco and I disliked one another, and when we DID become friends we kept the forum rivalry thing alive for the fun of it. So if anything when someone liked Draco they would have disliked me for not liking him, the whole us being known as friends is rather 'new' in the scheme of things. And lastly I don't get special treatment from Draco around here, this is his job.
-"He has a good personality." I do my best to keep things upbeat and fun. Anything from all those modblogs I have done to the CPMC Squares game and even the 'Post Now' posting game. I've had lots of people hate on me and one user went as far as to draw my penguin hanging its self with the red cape, and I don't hate any of them. I've been back stabbed, criticized, and attacked by more people than anyone else on the forum. I might as well have a big target on my back, but I take it for what it is worth and move on, I don't hold grudges.
-The Snowball Effect: Something starts off small but as it gets going it grows and grows and grows. Basically I became popular very early in CP Forum history (maybe someone can dig up why) and as the forums grew so did my popularity. There are some flaws in this because I personally feel I'm not as popular as I have been in the past, but it is a simple way of explaining how things got going. ie: Name recognition.
-Owning and Operating TIS is something I think I don't get all that much credit for. Behind the scenes I do more for it than the average chatter realizes. So yes, owning and operating TIS is an accomplishment and is a large contribution to the community. But to make it clear I dun TIS alone and it wouldn't be the CPMC Chat without the great staff that I've trusted modding it.
-Style. Most people will agree that my look is ridiculously unique and strangely appealing. And I do seem to be good at putting an outfit together (no so much IRL) hence 'Achieving Your Personal Look' Thread that I created and operate.
