View Full Version : Should we allow more nominations per person?

A lot of people have been stating that five per user is not enough.
Should we give you guys some more slots to pick users? If so I'd be willing to let you all edit your posts and pick more people from now on if that's ok.
I'll leave this poll open a day and afterwards I'll say what the final judgment is.
And just a reminder: Remember that we have three years worth of users to choose from. Try to think hard about the users you choose and ask yourself if they are really worthy of being picked. This countdown is literally made by YOU, so you all have the ability to make it really prestigious and cool, or completely bad.

I think 2 more should be enough. 10 just exceeds the limit and five is just not enough. Plus I had a couple more people in mind for nomination.

10 is too much, but wouldn't it be hard to redo the votes adding our nominations?
or would this only apply to people who have not already voted?

It goes to everyone, not just those who posted.
Instead of editing our posts, why don't we just post the two more people?
Or I guess it would be neater if you just looked through the first few pages and their edits. You would need to be cautious though of people messing up the system by changing their nominations completely.

Now that you put it like that, it sounds a lot easier to just post our extra 2 (or 5).

I was going to suggest just letting you guys freely edit your posts to add more people into them since Dracophile was all "raaaawrgh one post per person tell them that" and stuff.
Fake Edit: Yes he really does make that noise. HE IS A DRAGON or something. :scary:

I was going to only allow 1 post per user just because I was counting posts as well, and one post per user would mean X number of users, minus one since Roastmaster has the first post with the directions.
But let's just see how this works out, I do think it would just be easier to edit more people in though.
edit: Beaten by Roasty himself. :(

One post I mean. 1 post = 5 (or 7, or 10...) nominations each pretty much, save for the users who didn't do all 5.
I'm not hosting the forum here, I don't know why I'm still listed as Moderator, but I may end up hosting the "video" that Roastmaster won't leave me alone about making. He watches a lot of VH1 I'm assuming, and what he doesn't realize is that I don't like, have a lot of clips of random people saying things about users to warrant a fancy video and stuff.

Lol, isn't roast your brother or something?
I love the Vh1 countdown stuff so I would look forward to this.
Oh and thanks for clarifying the one post thing. ;)

Raising the nomination limit would lead to less people thinking before they nominate, so more people would just end up nominating friends.

I was going to vote 8, but that wasn't in the poll. So 7 or 10 would be good. I wouldn't ideally like 10, but it could be a little too many.

I'd prefer 7 and a half but that'd be stinky for the people who get a half vote

Two more people would be nice. I'd like it. Or 7 and three quarters.... [;) Chosen]

:D It makes me feel like I'm nice for once in my life.
10 10 10 10 10 10. You know you want it, guys.

I vote for 7. 10 would be good, but 10 is too much.

But 100 is not divisible by 7. This is just like a little clue that that would not be right.

so, are we allowed to nominate more people?
Gamerboy

I feel that as soon as we go up to x nominations, people would start saying they need a few more than that. Five is a small number, but it means that people might actually think about who they are nominating, rather than just copying their entire friends list to the forums.
The only advantage of having more is that people might start nominating people who they don't really talk to, but people who they think actually deserve some recognition as well as pleasing friends or 'returning nominations'.

Hey, you big downer! I would definitely be content at 7, I just think that ten frees up a little more. You can consider that a bad thing, but a lot more than five people that I know from these forums deserves a nomination.

I think we need 10, I think 7 is a better number. But then everyone will start complaining that that's not enough.

I think we need 10. It was extremely hard to choose just five and I know many more people who deserve a nomination.

I really don't care, but I prefer 7. Ten is a little bit to much.

I say 7.
10 seems like a little too much, but then with 5 you feel like you left someone worth saying out. :P

Yea, I agree with that. I posted my five and I was thinking maybe I forgot someone.

If you up it, can we change the current reasons on the people we nominated? Because I want to add a little more detail. :)

I think we need 10. Then people will stop nominating people with the most posts and nominate others.
Snoopy4life

I think 7 would be just the thing =] 10 in my mind would be a tad much and might turn the awards from something that's supposed to be intimate, to something that's just to open and just a popularity contest.

Okay, thanks. I have one other question now that I think of it.
By the looks of it, we're making the number a bit higher....when we go and edit our posts could I take off Sebastian? He deserves a few nominees...but now that I think of it I wasn't really on the forums, I was more or less banned for a year and only browsed here once in a while, missing alot of the action and him. I know a bit, but not quite the whole thing.

Well to me it seems that 7 will be the winner. Personally I think that 5 is fine but it is hard to chose between some people.

The italicized option, duh.
I personally still can't decide on who to nominate. I have like three people on my mind.

Do ten. I forgot to add Poe for one thing. :(
I didn't have room for RoYa. (anybody remember her? Vital?)
Nirvana Girl/Revenge
Pippyspot
Could think of lots more.

I remember RoYa. She posts on here every now and then.
Anyway, ten might be too much, but I also think ten would be good, considering there are about 4 people I wish I could have nominated. Although I voted for 7, I kind of hope that we can choose 10. I'm fine either way.

Okay well the poll is up and it looks liek 7 is the winner. You may go back and edit up to 7 people into your posts.
