View Full Version : Why are PM's a bad thing?

I have allways hoped that PM's would eventually come back and their not :( . I was wondering why PM's are such a bad thing. All the forums i go on have PM enabled and nothing bad turns out. Many people could use them for Club , and partie notices , letting people know that you want to meet them some where on CP etc ....

What are your thoughts about PM's:?:

They can easily be abused and they are hard to regulate as they are 'private' messages.

As an alternative it is easy to use another site to do this. For example I have gamerboy28@hotmail.co.uk as an address for people who want to contact me outside the forums as well as the Bribble chat.

Unfortunatly, people might've been sending others they hated very crude and inappropriate messages. The admins got wind of it and disabled PMing. Shame too. I could really use it right now...

Yes. Also I think some members may've also contacted the admins about it and well, the admins shut the thing down.

Exactly. It's just not safe.

If you want to talk that bad then get a messenger.

There are filters and blocks just like forum posts but we cannot moderate PRIVATE messages, and they are difficult to report to the staff anyways.

If you need to get in touch with someone please use an IM service or an email.
