I sent an email to Club Penguin about having a Chinese New Year party (26th of January, it will be the year of the ox). Here is what they replied:
Hello Chocolat 65,
Thank you for contacting us with your idea to have a party during the Chinese
New Year in the Dojo. That sure would be fun wouldn't it? There could be
really colorful lanterns and cool decorations all over. Although I cannot
guarantee that your idea will be used, I will be sure to pass it along for
further consideration.
If you have any other great ideas or questions please don't hesitate to
contact us. Our team is always and to help and we would be delighted to hear
from you once again.
Thanks for playing Club Penguin and have a great day!

Maybe, not just in the Dojo, but the whole of Club Penguin. I love this idea, and can't believe they have never used it before, I can just imagine the decorations and music now, that party could be one of the greatest partys in Club Penguin, I highly suggest that Club Penguin have a Chinese New Year party for January-Febuary 2010. As I said before, this could be one of the greatest partys in Club Penguin History.

Wouldn't it kinda be the same as the Dojo Opening?

The normal new year is barely celebrated on CP. I don't see why the Chinese one should be.
P.S. It is probably too late for them to start preparing it anyway.

But ninjas are Japanese, so it wouldn't make sense to throw a Chinese New Year party in the Dojo. Maybe around other parts of cp, such as fireworks like they did for the regular new year.

Or maybe in all of Club Penguin.

That is a great idea. I hope they go through with it (I like Club Penguin parties a lot). Perhaps it would be better if the entire island were decorated for it, maybe for just one day? The celebrations needn't be limited to the Dojo. Also, it would be an incorrect idea to celebrate Chinese New Year in a Dojo, because a Dojo is Japanese, not Chinese, and has no realistic relevance to China in any way (Japanese Martial Arts are practised in Dojos, not Chinese ones). It would be a racially discriminative comment to say that Chinese and Japanese terminology is the same (they are as different as the English language and the Swedish language).

But there is not much too different about English and Swedish. There is many words that Swedish have in their language and so does English. And come to think of it, isn't like every word from the English language taken?
No offense, but I do hear many words that I have in my language.

Yes, there isn't too much difference in the languages. I may not have expressed my point correctly. What I meant was that there is a large difference in their cultures (as there is between the English culture and the Swedish culture). The similarity between the English and Swedish languages is explained by the fact that both of them at least partially were involved with the Latin language.

Yes, I happen to get frustrated anytime anyone says that asians are all the same (slanted eyes, rice hat, always say ching chang chong...). But I believe that the dojo is already a mix of asian culture. To show you the extent of this, I've separated all the things in the dojo into 4 categories:
Japanese:
-Dojo (japanese for 'place of the Tao' (with Tao meaning way, path, route)
-Sensei (japanese for 'master')
-The dojo itself looks like a japanese castle (it is not meant to look like a pagoda, unlike many people think)
-Ninjas (though the ninja costume looks more like the costume of the chinese equivalent of ninjas, called 'Lin Kuei')
-The sensei sits on a cushion under a torii (japanese gate)
-The floor inside the dojo is covered in tatamis (straw mats), and the walls are made of washi (japanese paper).
-On the grand dojo re-opening, the floor was a japanese garden, with bonsai and rocks in a sea of pebbles representing islands amongst the sea.
-On the grand dojo re-opening, in the dragon painting, the clouds were painted in the japanese style (this style of cloud is simply called 'buddha cloud'.)
Chinese:
-Chinese gongs (aka chau gogn or bullseye gong) have been seen several times (in the ninja catalog, and on the grand dojo re-opening)
-On the dragon banner in the grand dojo re-opening, the dragon was drawn in the chinese style and held orbs (only chinese dragons hold orbs.)
-In the grand dojo re-opening, the lanterns were chinese.
-The puffle statues are Fu lions (only replaced with puffles).
Vietnamese:
-The rice hat Sensei wears is originally from Vietnam before it spread to China
Korean:
-The letters on the Flying Flipper Emporium are in the korean style (Hanja): they are simple, unlike the far more complex, detailed shapes of the japanese kanjis.
PS: The japanese wouldn't mind at all if the chinese new year was made in the dojo, simply because the dojo is a mix of asian styles and traditions. They are very tolerant towards this type of thing ;)

It was a mistake of Club Penguin to use Chinese gongs, Chinese letters or Fu lions, but I don't blame them for thinking that no one would notice the Chinese-style drawing, the Vietnamese rice hat or the Korean writing.
While it is correct that the Japanese wouldn't mind if Chinese New Year was made in the Dojo, it is because they are tolerant towards that sort of thing, not because the Dojo is the perfect place. It is no more Chinese than the rest of Club Penguin, not only because Chinese people also play Club Penguin overall, not just "train" in the Dojo, but also because anything properly Chinese in a Dojo is not actually meant to be there (with the exception of Chinese gongs in some Dojos, where the Japanese want to make a nice sound so they just buy a Chinese gong).
Also, I'm not saying that an uproar would be created if Chinese New Year was in the Dojo (I'm quite alright with it fundamentally and neither the Japanese nor the Chinese would mind much en masse), just that it would be better if it was all over Club Penguin.
Yours sincerely,
Game Lord

If the idea has something to do with a foreign country, cp will never do it. The only time they did it was when they added portuguese as a language in cp because people were asking for it ever since cp started. Seriously, cp dosen't care about the other countries besides US, Canada, And the UK just a bit.

Totally, especially as they made a CP headquarters in Australia, they must really hate them!
