When I went to Motocena's profile, the green light was on, but he was still banned.

I have seen people on the bottom of were it shows whos online i saw some ones name with a cross in it so i clicked on it and he was banned but still online. I think someone should check that.

When they are online and have a cross through their name or they have a green light and are banned, even though it says they might be doing something, what they really get is a:

Or something to that effect. (Instead of hashes it is a nice box) They can't post or anything normally.

a mod needs to answer this question, they would be the only ones who know.

the only logical explanation i can think of is that they are just looking at the page that says "you are banned for: such and such", but why would they do that?

You're still allowed to view the forum when you're banned, you just can't post in it.

When you even try to view the forum when your banned it will give you that message. Of course you can log out or clear your cookies (if you turned the Remember me option on) to view the forums.

That's how it worked on the old forums I believe.

I've done that on other forums before.Since the forum remembers you by one or more cookies, deleting any cookies from the forum lets you see them again.

Not only mods know this, i knew this before i was a mod.
Anyway, i know gamerboy cleared up what you see, and when the person sees that, they are shown as logged on.
