Today i'm going to the orthodontist to get molds for braces. It's same place my mom went to for braces when she was a kid, hopefully the technology has improved since then,. If you have braces post and tell me what it's like.

I do not have braces, but my friends say it is painful the first few days and when you tighten them. Don't worry, I'm sure they won't be a problem. Also, remember you can't chew gum and eat certain foods and hard candy. It might break something.

I've had braces for a year. For the next few days your mouth will feel weird, and it may hurt, making it hard to eat. But then in the next 2-3 days, most of the pain should be gone. You can take medicine like Tylonal or Motrin to relieve the pain in your mouth.

Good luck! :)

I don't have braces, but I'm supposed to be getting them next year.
I've heard it hurts for a while and that you can't eat certian things anymore, that's gonna relly suck. My friend just got her braces off, she said it was worth it, even though it hurt sometimes. I'm sure it'll all be fine!

Yeah. I haven't exactly followed those rules because I've eaten hard things, caramel, chewed gum, and ate taffy tons of times. Wasn't the best of choices, but nothing bad has happened... yet.

I used to have braces. They hurt alot for the first 2/3 days, but after that they are fine. I didn't really brush my teeth 3 times a day like they said, oh well.

Hah, it must have certainly weakened them though. I don't know what my sister ate when she had braces, but something snapped right out. :O It costed a lot of money to fix. I don't think we had to fix it though because she was getting the braces off soon. She no longer has them.

Braces sound like no fun at all...The results are probably worth it though.

I know what braces feel like, I used to have them! They were taken out when I was 14 and a 1/2. When they are put in, they feel really weird, but you settle into them. When mine got taken out, my teeth felt weird then too! :O

I have had braces for about 4 months.
The first 3 days or so they hurt a ton (well for me it did).
After that you will want to know what it feels like without braces.
Also when they get tightend it hurts like Iwaddle says.
