Do you have a wireless router? Or can you trade at the global trade station? If you can trade that means you have wifi. Otherwise it won't work. O.T I just transferred my fire red pokemon articuno to diamond at the pal park. Same with charizard and moltres, although im using: Giratina,Articuno,Charizard,Spiritomb,Gengar,Empol eon.
If i'm in the next round I will use
Aerodactyl,Gyarados,Rydon,Kabuto/kabutops if evolved,Hitmonlee.

No, If you want to. You can get pokemon from firered to diamond and same with other game paks.
