Are bells and whistles instruments, included in the instruments?

Yay! My thread! Also, I was just about to post this same exact thing. I don't think they are instruments, I think they are just noise makers.

As I am someone who is involved with music - any percussion player in a band/orchestra will tell you that bells and whistles can be music instruments (of course, used in the correct context)

Well a bell is an instrument.

And i dont think a whistle is.

I think they would technically count as Percussion instruments. They make a musical note, therefore they are an instrument.

I thought this through again, and I think bells are instruments but not whistles. I was thinking about bells or whistles in a band, and I thought of a bell choir. So, I think a bell is a instrument, and a whistle is a noise maker.

I voted yes, Bells Yes For Sure!! Whistles yes ok. Both can be Annoying if misused.

Well they make noise, so i guess you can call them instruments.
