I was wondering, did Club Penguin sign a deal with Crocs? I was wondering since the new Cuckoo Ka-Shoes are the same as Crocs, in the new catalog. So, what do you think, did they sign a deal?

I don't think they did because they have a style of Vans as well, which are nearly as ugly as the Crocs.
Plus everyone rips off crocs, it's no big deal :P

I have no clue, more importantly, who would put Crocs on a human?

Seriously, they are the ugliest shoes I've ever seen!

And what's more they aren't even good quality shoes.

They are shoes made out of plastic. SHOES MADE OUT OF PLASTIC! Aggghhh!

Well, someone said Disney and Crocs had a deal. So, Disney ended up putting them in the game. Also, your right, Crocs are very comfortable.

They really arent Crocs to say but CP's on version of the croc.
So they would not have to sign a "deal".

They sell spin-offs of 'crocs' everywhere, payless, and all those other stores. Crocs cannot sue Club Penguin because in the game they are called 'Cuckoo Ka-Shoes' and not crocs, so they did not do anything involving the crocs company. The design is similar but not exactly the same, besides even if the crocs company found out, this is basically endorsing their product, so I would be glad if the game did that for my company.

There are many brands of this plastic/rubber shoe. Just like there are many brands of sandals and sneakers. They are not "Crocs", if they were they would have been named "Crocs" in the game. NO it is not advertising for anything. These shoes are very popular (one just has to look around in summer weather to see that) so they were added as new items.

They wouldn't do that, seeing as Crocs have a partnership with Disney that allows them to make children's shoes with Disney Characters printed on them. Even if Club Penguin did suddenly decide to put their own spin on the Crocs in the catalog (which I am now beginning to think is what they did), there would be no objections because it basically serves as free promotion of the shoes.

Maybe so, but crocs were the ones who brought in this particular style of plastic shoe, It just seemed odd to me for a company owned by Disney to suddenly place the product of a Disney affiliate in their game. After all, what better technique for promotion of your product than to put it in a popular internet game?

However after reading your post, it does seem to make more sense, I can now see what you are saying, placing the shoe in the game wasn't a malicious move or anything, just as someone else pointed out, they also have the "Vans" style shoes in the catalog. They were only included because the shoes were popular in the first place.

However, because the shoes still keep the same look and style as the Crocs, it still serves as a form of promotion, but after reading your post I can now understand that it wasn't intended as product placement.

That makes me alot happier. It is a relief to know that Club Penguin are still intent on keeping their site advertisement free. (unlike other games, where the advertising is just shocking)
