Well, to sit nice and snug next to Wii vs 360 vs PS3 I made this little thread.
I prefer the DS. The psp offers little more than bad PS2 ports, any original games are nothing special. The DS has plenty of fun exclusives and little gems like 'Soul Bubbles'.

DS. So many reason, originality being the main one. Two screens, mic support, touch screen etc... Awesome games, perhaps the best range of great games on any console, ever? Best selling gaming unit nowadays, by quite alot, you'd be surprised.
Anyway, let's look at the figures:
Worldwide Sales Figures
Nintendo DS ~ 70.6 mil
Sony PSP ~ 34 mil.
Do the math.

The DS has many, MANY more memorable games than the PSP.
-Nintendogs
-Animal Crossing
-Metroid
-Mario Kart DS
-Super Mario 64 DS
-Pokemon Pearl and Diamond
Shall I go on?
And the DS is creative and cool- No other gaming system has a touch screen like the DS. The PSP is like a Game boy but copied by Sony.

I love the DS. I don't have a PSP but if I did the only games I would get would be the new Battlefront and Ratchet and clank.

PSP!
Many many more features than the DS, better graphics, and lots of shooter games (if you like those kind of games).

but what does graphix matter when you look at it from DOING. that is what is special about nintendo nowadays DOING. You are shooting the robots. You are building up pressure for your rocket with the stylus. You are chatting with your friend over nintendo wifi using your voice. you are getting the point right. bye.

Grow up.
It is just an opinion. I used to even have a Nintendo DS, I really didn't like it.

Guess what I voted for!
PSP has funner games unlike the ds which has games like brain training, why would you want to learn outside school. The ds games also get boring after a while and the screens are too small.
The PSP also can connect to the almighty PS3 and you can go on the Internet on it!

Brain Training was an out and out WORLDWIDE success. Why would you want to learn outside of school? It's not learning, it's keeping your brain fit and young, and appeals to all ages. It's so crap that Sony tried to copy it
Screens are too small = You have no arguement. That's like argueing over football teams and saying that one team is worse coz they have smaller feet. Pathetic reasoning.
And to top it all off, the DS has an internet browser.

DS, and for one reason in particualar...
One day I was downloading some movies to go onto my PSP so I could watch them, but instead I got an hour of random snippets choosen from the movies I had choosen and several french and spanish re-dubs as well.

No.
which has games like brain training
Don't buy brain training. Did you consider playing something awesome like Mario Kart or Zelda?
why would you want to learn outside school
Maybe the game isn't aimed at your age group?
The ds games also get boring after a while
Some do, but so do some PSP games?
and the screens are too small
No they're not.

I actually do feel bad for you not having enjoyed the DS experience, maybe due to poor games played or just general ignorance, but it's only yourself who's losing out.

I honestly like DS better myself. I have the original version of DS(you know, the ol' bulky one) and I also have a PSP. I once left my DS in my school backpack for 3 months. Nothing was wrong with it. PSP on the other hand? Screen totally cracked and ruined. Can't even play the dumb thing anymore:|(BTW, both were on accident) Also, when i play some handheld games, I start tapping the screen like a DS:P

You need the browser to use the internet.

No it hasn't and no they aren't. The length depends what game you're playing.
Igloowarrior, tell me what DS games you have played.

The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass!
It's blatently obvious that they are not the ones you've played, because that game is VERY VERY long. Nice try though

Obviously the DS dominates! Nintendo does a good job with the interaction games, which is what makes the DS and Wii so cool. Plus now, the DS can connect to the Wii and you can download game demos and buy them from the Wii! The PSP just doesn't appeal to me much.

igloowarrior we dont need to play any PSP games because they are exact same as PS3 OR 2 and ds has its own style of games which are interactive thats what i think

I don't like Sony, I like Microsoft way better. But I have to agree that the PSP is better. It has games I like. (Realistic Games) Not Cartoony games.

I'd choose the ds because a psp is just like one of the normal playstation and its almost the same games as the ps2. I like nintendo ds because you can use your stylus for almost anything and you can use game boy advance games for it.:)

DS of course!!!
It has:
- Even better graphics than psp
- 2 screens
- Touch screen
- Cheaper than a PSP
- Smaller box = Better for the enviroment
- Cool games

Wow..Both
I use the Nintendo DS to play Ultimate mortal kombat and I already have 341 wins and 23 losses.
I use my psp for a lot of others things
And to top it all off, the DS has an internet browser.

They both are great. Both have great games, both have nice graphics.
They both have nice features ect. ect.
I'd have to say, though, the PSP has lots of features other than gaming and internet.
*Music
*Video
*Radio
*GPS
*TV
*Images
*Movies
...and more, but, you DO have to pay for them! "no wai!!@##"
You have to pay for the memory. You have to pay for the internet. You have to pay for the TV. You pretty much are paying for everything that goes into the memory, and you even have to pay for the memory itself!
...unless you are doing something illegal, but that is a different story. Nothing is free. Anyways... if you say the PSP has a lack of games, think again. Here's a list of my favorites.
*GTA: Vice City Stories
*GTA: Liberty City Stories
*Daxter
*Midnight Club: Dub Edition
*Starwars Battlefront 2
*Tony Hawk's Underground 2: Remix
That's just a tiny fraction of the games on that handheld. The DS is actually no match. I like both, but the PSP takes the cake...
The DS is awesome, though. Very fun minigames.
