I am doing some data collection today, and I think this project could possibly use the data when I'm done. I have completed 12 of twelve tests. This is how it works:
Test 1: Throughout the day, I will stand in the middle of some well-known rooms wearing all my rarest clothes and dancing while screaming "I AM FAMOUS AND RARE!!!!!".Then I record the number of buddy requests. Then after five minutes doing that I will log off, log back on to a non-member account, and, wearing or saying nothing, dance in the same place as I did before. I will then compare the amount of non-member buddy requests to the amount of requests I got as a snooty member(meaning this particular member was snooty, not all members are snooty). I will do this 6 different times spread evenly throughout the day at different servers, countries, and rooms.
This is the non-member discrimination test.
These are the results of test 1.A.:
Time(in PST):3:02 AM(6:02 A.M. U.S. eastern, 10:02 A.M. GMT)
Country: America
Server: Mammoth
Room: The Dock (in the middle)
member requests: 14
non-member requests: 0
You can already tell the drastic difference between member and non-member. This particular test was taken extremely early in the morning, especially for the country I was in, so there is
little telling what it will be like later in the day. I could get up to 20 buddy requests as a member, in my estimation, and might still get little to none as a non-member.
Test 1.B.:
Time (in PST):5:30 A.M.(8:30 A.M. U.S. eastern, 12:30 A.M. GMT)
Country: United Kingdom
Server: Deep Freeze
Room: Plaza
Member request rate: 11 requests
Non-member request rate: 2 requests
This test showed a difference of 9 requests. That is sad.
These are the results for test 1.c.:
Time (in PST):7:30 A.M.(10:30 A.M. U.S. eastern, 3:30 P.M. GMT)
Country: Australia
Server: Big Surf
Room: Snow Forts
Member requests: 2
Non-member requests: 1
This one I feel would show a larger difference if done in a more popular location. But it is no coincidence that I got more as a member.
Here are the results for test 1.d.:
Time (in PST):11:30 A.M.(3:30 P.M. U.S. eastern, 7:30 P.M. GMT)
Country: Canada
Server: Glaicer
Room: Forest
Member requests: 4
Non-member requests: 1
This definitely showed an expected outcome.
Test 1.E.:
Time: 1:30 P.M.
Country: U.S.
Server: Iceberg
Room: Night Club
Member requests: 6
Non-member requests: 0
This one showed a difference of 6. As a lonely non-member I was ignored, in a time where I needed a friend much more than some arrogant member with people following them like puppies.
Test 1.F.:
Time: 5:00 P.M.(9:00 P.M. U.S. eastern, 1:00 A.M. GMT)
Country: U.K.
Server: Frozen
Room: Dock
Member requests: 9
Non-member requests: 0
The results speak for themselves.
Test 2: I will record the number of negative comments found over a span of 5 minutes in the selected area. This test will be done 6 evenly spread times throughout the following 12 hours.
This is the bullying test.
Here are the results for test 2.A.:
Time(in PST):4:00 A.M.(7:00 A.M. U.S. eastern, :00 A.M. GMT)
Country: Canada
Server: North Pole
Room: Town
Negative comments: 3
I saw this girl during this test saying "Any member guys?". I walked up, disguised as a non-member and said" I'm not a member but I am a guy looking for someone special (I actually wasn't though; I just wanted to see her reaction).
She said "Sh ut up lo ser" and ran away. I proceeded to chase her around the island frantically while she put on mean faces. I counted that as two negative comments, including the "Sh ut up lo ser" and the mean faces like this one this one and this one .
Here are the results for test 2.B.:
Time (in PST):6:00 A.M.(9:00 A.M. U.S. eastern, 1:00 P.M. GMT)
Country: Australia
Server: South Pole
Room: Ski Village
Negative comments: 0!
No negative comments were recorded!
These are the results for test 2.C.:
Time (in PST):8:00 A.M.(11:30 A.M. U.S. easter, 2:30 P.M. GMT)
Country: United Kingdom
Server: Big Surf
Room: Cove
Negative Comments: 8
This test had an extremely large amount of negative comments. There was one couple that oh so generously contributed 6 of them including: "What's your problem?", "Leave! Go Away weirdo!", and "Oh no, its you again!" plus many more. This was a test that truly showed just how bad bullying is.
Here are the results for test 2.D.:
Time: 1:30 P.M.(4:30 P.M. U.S. eastern, ?GMT)
Country: U.S.
Server: Grizzly
Room: Beach
Negative Comments: 3
Here they are:
"u r ogly"
" I only talk to kool penguins"
"im a hunk ur not"
Test 2.E.:
Time: 4:30 P.M.( 8:30 P.M. U.S. eastern, 12:30 A.M. tomorrow GMT)
Country: Canada
Server: Great White
Room: Dojo
Negative comments: 1
There was one very bad comment:
"Duh, you stupid *censored*"
Test 2.F.:
Time: 5:30 P.M.(9:30 PM U.S. eastern, 1:30 AM tomorrow GMT)
Country: Australia
Server: Outback
Room: Town
Negative comments:1
"u r not hot"
Statistics(per half hour):
Negative comments:16
Member's buddy requests: 46
Non-member's buddy requests: 4
Difference: 42
ALL THE TESTS ARE NOW COMPLETED AND POSTED.
