Well, I had a few buddies over on the weekend, and we went through my room and we came across my very large collection of old pokemon cards. My friend told me the ones with the stars in the corner are considered rare, so I sorted those out, and I have a few of them, and I'm interested in selling them. Are they worth anything? If you know what I could sell these cards (going to list them) for, please let me know. Also, if you're interested in buying them, and live in my area, let me know.
Pokemon:
Light Lanturn
Pidgeotto
Murkrow
Haunter (Holographic, and I have two of these)
Nidoqueen (holographic)
Pinsir
Muk (holographic, and I have two of these)
Dark Vileplume (first edition)
Victreebel
Dark Arbok
Lapras (holographic)
Vaporeon (I have two of these, one is holographic)
Raichu
Tyranitar
Dark Slowbro
Giovanni's Pinsir
Misty's Cloyster
Flareon
Dark Charizard
Rocket's Hitmonchan (Holographic)
Scyther
Dark Scizor (Holographic)
Umbreon
Dark Machamp
Hitmonchan (Holographic)
Ditto
Ho-oh
Promo Cards:
Entei (Holographic)
Zapdos
Trainer Cards:
Item Finder
Pokémon Trader (I have two of these)
Computer Search
Energy Cards:
Darkness Energy (Special energy card)
Metal Energy (Holographic, Special energy card)
So yeah, if you know if any of these cards are worth anything... just let me know.
These are only the cards that have stars in the corner of them/are a promo.
Yeah, this might not be much help, but I have a ton of old Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and even old Star Wars toys. I go to http://www.toywiz.comand see what the price for them is. It may not be really accurate, but its better then nothing.
Edit: I don't think they have every card there, but that might clear some of them off your list.

I'll have to check that site out TNT. I have over a thousand Pokemon cards that are great at collecting dust.
Edit: I just found out that one of my cards is worth $90.00. Wow, I better get selling.

Beckett (www.beckett.com) usually has reliable pricing guides, and they also have values of non-card materials as well.
However Dom, I am sad to say this but while your cards are worth "something" they are pretty much worthless these days. The "apex" of their values was many many years ago back when an original Base Set Charizard was worth a pretty penny. I bought one as a Christmas gift for my little brother this past Christmas and spent only $9 on it. Blastoise was $7, Venusaur was $5. I also bought a Pre-Release promotional Aerodactyl from the Fossil Set for $3. This card used to be worth a lot more and was the "prized gem" of one of my friend's collections. $3 now. Yeah. Not even worth a gallon of gas.
Unless you happen to have any discontinued promos or any kind of rare misprint cards, they pretty much worth anywhere from $1 - $10 each, and that is considering only the original sets. The newer stuff I am not familiar with so I cannot help you there. Needless to say, with me and my serendipitous collecting skills I have a handful of cards that have some decent value to them (mostly promotionals and misprints).

I'd be pretty satisfied if the cards I've got were worth around $1-$3 each. I need like $40 for something.
I do have one of those voltorbs that had the misprint where it said "monster ball" instead of "poke ball", but I'm pretty sure that's a common mis-print.
Sorry about the bad price guide. :D
I have this though, I just thought it would be interesting to share: http://www.toywiz.com/swrotsc135.html
It's supposed to have a red lightsaber. :O
It would be pretty awesome if I could sale it for alot more than that one day. :D
Oh, and I also have this: http://www.toywiz.com/ha2acfise1ch.html

I have a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh cards, a few are "god cards", which are meant to be pretty rare. I wonder if I could sell them for anything. I also think I have a few Pokemon cards, one was off a movie, it's a lighting bird thing.

Sounds like Zapdos from when the second movie was in theaters. (Pokemon: The Movie 2000)
