View Full Version : Poster of the Month (Coming soon)

I have seen this on many other forums and I thought it might be a good idea for it to be on here.

Here is how it works.

-Poster of the Month is where forumers on this forum will vote for who they think is the best poster of the current month.
-The poster of the month is NOT THE PERSON WITH THE MOST POSTS!
-The poster of the month is the poster that is most sufficient and most helpful and kind to others, and has good grammer.
-To set up some nominees, the Poster of the Month will start about 1 week before the month is over soo everyone can get a chance to vote.
-Do not vote for moderaters.
-Do not vote for yourself.
-The winner will have the rights to put something like this in their signature like (Ex:RFS March 2007 Poster of the Month)
-You can only win every 6 months.
More rules may come soon!

The first Poster of the Month will start in about 2 and a half weeks!
That should give you enough time to figure out who you think should be the poster of the month!

EDIT: I will need someone to make something for the winners.
It would need to say their forum name, and Penguin Poster of the Month (March).

You had this on Mc forums didn't you? I really liked this because everybody wanted to win so they were doing nice things and helping people out

What happens if a moderator is meant to be a good poster?

I suppose it be a user competition to see who it is, the main concern of mine is that it would become more of a popularity contest than anything else or someone who is likely to be a mod soon would be voted in as it is still allowed.

It could work though.

It would not really be fair to regular forumers if a moderator could be voted.
We already know that moderators are already very good posters.

Suggestion for a rule, you cannot win two successive poster of the month competitions. Just to make sure the same person doesn't keep winning.

Why the poster of the month? It's just a post.

Sounds fun. I did a Poster Of The Year contest back in the old forum, turned out really well. (Alwaysaloser came first, I came second, Balthasar came third.) Hope it turns out well!

(I know who I'm gonna nominate)

Yeah, it would be unfair if I won every month...

I think RFS said it could be done, but the staff could not do it due to favouritism and stuff like that.

That is a important one!

I will add that to the list.
It will not be you can only win once, it will be you can only win every 6 months.

So, when will nominations start?

And, this is only a popularity thread if YOU make it a popularity thread. if you think your votes through, and don't vote for someone because they're popular, then it won' be.

I think you've got a great idea going. Best of luck to all the nominees in advance and I can't wait to see who they are on Friday (next Friday that is).

Is it the 9th or 16th that nominations start? I think you meant the 16th, but I wanted to make sure.

I have a few people in mind. Is it best poster so far in this forum, or is it best poster in the Miniclip forums, and these ones?

These ones. GCers won't associate with penguins, most of the time.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't chop down to who has the most post or runs the most popular club. Good luck with the idea, I've got people in mind.

I want to win though I don't mind if I lose, but my goal on Miniclip Forums/Club Penguin Forums is to be nice, not spam, be helpful, and grammar.
(The thing I worry is popularity will get to the better of them.)

It would have to between Dom or Balth.

wow thats not right. Just cause he has a kinda high rank doesnt mean hes a bad poster. Why do people need to think like you? Maybe he just wants to be a good poster too.

Well usually, 99 percent of the time, people with higher post counts usually are the one's that have very small posts and/or bad grammar posts.

Not really. I had 5,500 posts on the old forums, and I have fine grammar, and my posts aren't meaningless, most of the time.

Well, you have been on the forums for a decent amount of time.
Many people have had a 100 posts on like the first day of the new forums.

And you would be in the 1 percent.

Seems like a well origizied contest. Probably will become a populairty based thing.

Good luck to everyone.

Are we allowed to vote for Trainee mods? ;)

Not for the first couple months.
If this whole thing goes okay, I will set up a special month just for Trainee Mods.

You probably won't vote for me though
since I have so many posts
but they are all good, not spam.

I think I only posted one stupid thing.
Which was in my thread.

I have alot of posts, yes I know but
I am super bored thi week that is whY I am
posting so much. Once my friends come outside
I won't post as much.

I will need someone to make something for the winners.
It would need to say their forum name, and Penguin Poster of the Month (March).

If no one is able to do that then, the winner will have the rights to just type it into their signature.

I just want to point on something that you don't have a good grammar -_-, you wrote ex = example but it's not correct e.g is the shortcut of Example.

That's how many people write it.
Besides, how could one little mistake mean I have bad grammar?

I remember the CP music thread when me, you and Zigger were talking about "80n3r$" and stuff... ah good times, good times...

Hey, this competition will be fair now since there is no post count. Finally, we can have a fair competition in which the deserving users can finally win. I can't wait to see the end results. :P

ha, i finally made up my mind about the winners sig, it'll be a grunge sig with a "poster of the month" overlayed pic in the background and the name of the poster in the upper right corner and the month in the down left corner. I have the bkg made, so i'll probably finish it tonight.
