If you will look at the newspapers A4 page, ypu will se that the clock is thin.But if you will look at the main page or the real clock, you will se that its almost 4 times bigger than that!Also at the main page, it shows some stairs inside it.

Dude int he main page is in the Back of the clock i dont think its stairs its mabye that steel circle thing that moves the clock and on A4 its thin becuase its showing in front of the clock.

I think it just looks thin because its a front view of the tower on page A4, and more of a side view on the cover.
