Brush Scaling

This special feature enables you to change the size of your brush in an instant. Unlike the defualt sizes on the side panel of Microsoft Paint, this feature can increase your brush even more than 500%!

What to do:

Click on the brush icon in Microsoft Paint
Hold down CTRL and + to make your brush larger. (Hold + Down on your number pad)
The longer you hold it, the larger the brush will become.
Hold down CTRL and - to make your brush smaller. (Hold - Down on your number pad)

Custom Brushes

This feature is one of Microsoft Paint's most helpful tools. You will be able to create any kind of brush you desire, in a matter of seconds! This tool is also great for creating 3D effects.

What to do:

Draw a scribble using the Paint or Pencil tool.
Make a selection box around the scribble.
Turn Transparency On.
While holding down shift, drag the box around the screen.
And there is your custom brush!

Image Scaling

This feature is not needed, however it can sometimes be useful. This allows you to instantly make any image pasted or created in Microsoft Paint smaller or larger. This does not zoom in the screen, it increases or decreases the images' size.

What to do:

Make a selection box around the image.
Now that the image is selected, you can now use the feature.
Hold down CTRL and + to make the image larger. (Hold + Down on your number pad)
Hold down CTRL and - to make the image smaller. (Hold - Down on your number pad)

Color Replacement

This feature is extremely helpful when you want to make lines/ pixels a certain color without messing your image up. This trick is sometimes hard to remember, so feel free to look at these directions if you forget! This tool may seem useless to some people, however it makes altering your artwork 20x faster.

What to do:

Set the color you want replaced as your Primary Color.
Set the replacement color as your Secondary Color.
Click the eraser tool.
Hold down the right click on your mouse, and scroll it over the color you want replaced.

Need further help with Color Replacement?

Draw a black line.
Right click on a different color.
Click on the eraser tool.
Hold down the right click on your mouse.
Carefully move the eraser over the black line while holding down the right click.

Congratulations! You have replaced your colors!

Grids

This feature is perfect for making sure that your lines are accurate and right where you want them to be. This is not extremely helpful, but there are some uses for it!

What to do:

Click on the magnifying glass icon.
Zoom in x6 or x8.
Hold down CTRL and the letter G.
A grid will appear.
To remove the grid, hold down CTRL and the letter G once more.
If you do not remove the grid, it will automatically appear every time you zoom in x6 or x8.

Change your Wallpaper while using Microsoft Paint!

This is the most amazing feature Microsoft Paint has to offer by far. This will create an amazing wallpaper for you in minutes!

What to do:

Draw an image 1x2 pixels in size. (Insert two random colors at any size.)
Click on File.
Save As.
Save it to your desktop as "Wallpaper" and make sure that you make it is a .png file.
Close or minimize all windows until you can see your wallpaper and your file on your computer.
Right Click.
Click on Properties.
Click on Desktop.
Click on Browse and find your file located on your desktop.
Select it and click Open.
Press Apply and "OK" and you have yourself an amazing wallpaper!

first of all, you forgot to mention that you have to use the + and - on your numpad, which is where everyone is going wrong.

not as in depth as we can go about this
one tip I don't think you mentioned is copy-pasting quickly.
to quickly copy an image and move it to where you want the copy to be, make a selection, hold the ctrl button, and click the image and drag it to wherever you want the copy

Also, that's not in depth, but, I may make a shading colour choosing guide that is in depth, but I'm not sure how effective it'd be, considering hexadecimal, and shading is a very edgy subject
it's either understood or NOT AT ALL

EDIT: Sorry about the huge bump, I was finding this thread for some person who wanted it and forgot all about when it was posted.

Oops. I thought it was obvious to everyone. I'll edit my first post correcting that error. Thank you for telling me.

there is more!

3 colour pallete( im not sure how to spell that...)
don't you know that there are 2 colour palletes when you click your mouse button left and right? while there is one more!
just try press down control button and pick your favourite colour on the pallete and you will get another pallete!

secret brush
this is a little bit hard, but try!
first go to the brush tool, make it to the smallest brush.
then, at the brush picker part, you will see a white line.
press it and then draw!
you will see a amazing brush!
NOTE: please read this carefully, if you don't, you will an error!
if you fail, try again untill you get the hang of this.

inverting colours
want to get a scary face in your picture? Then this is just right for you!
first, take a scary picture (or any picture), press ctrl+i and the colours will invert!

black and white palletes
tired of those yucky colour palletes you have in you screen? Then turn your palletes black and white!
press ctrl+e, you will see a button called "black and white" click it and then press ok.
you see a warning window (don't worry it would not affect the paint) just press yes and you will see a blakc and white pallete!

Edit: here are some outcomes of me and spem tutorial...

Is there a way to do the first one if you don't have a number pad? Most laptops don't have one, like mine. :(
