View Full Version : 15 Posts to post links?

I find that 15 posts isn't a good idea in order to post links. Maybe the admins should change the posts to 5 so that people can actually post links.
Good sides on this:
1. People can actually join a GFX team instead of waiting.
2. Users will be able to help other users out more.
3. This will cause people to stay here longer. At first I thought that the rule was quite dumb because I wanted to join a GFX team at 2 posts. I decided to leave because I didn't like the rule what so ever. Then today, I thought that maybe I should boycott about this. But I decided to stay. =D
Bad Sides on this:
1. Some noobs could join and they could start advertising there forum throughout posts.
To solve that, I find that the admins should just make the post requirement 5 posts. That way it will be a whole lot fair to other users.

Fifteen posts isn't way too excessive in my opinion.
It's more because spam bots can probably post around five posts before being caught and therefore could start posting links instead of just URLs.
Fifteen posts if your fairly active will only take 1-5 days which isn't too long.

Well put. 15 posts isn't too much, and it isn't that hard to put the link, copy it, and put it in the address bar. Any active user can easily get 15 posts in a couple of days, and it isn't going to kill you if you can't post links and images until you get the required amount of posts.
I do see where you are coming from though.

I do agree that 15 posts isn't going to hurt me but i'm just telling my point of view.

It used to be 25 posts, but we lowered it down to 15 to make it easier on newer users.
I really, really, would like it to stay at 25 mostly because keeping it there means that it will take a spammer at least a half hour before he/she can start to post offending images, and by then we usually have already caught them, banned them, and cleaned up the mess. The smaller you make that post requirement, the faster a person can come in here and start posting nasty pictures (it has been attempted before).
For now I think 15 is "good enough". ;)

I think it should be far away from 15, maybe 100 posts. 15 posts is the minimum posts any poster gets in a day.

15 is not the minimum posts/day. 15 is more like hooked.

I'm the owner and I don't even get that many posts per day. :P

And phenom has 5000 posts.
Also, alouing new users to post link, is almost like a forum full of spam, because normally new users dont even mind to read the rules.
PS: What does BTW means Ive been tryingto figure it out.

If everyone starts comparing people based on post count I'm going to shut it off entirely.

I mean shut off post count. It's in the rules not to start judging or bragging based upon post count and/or join date.

You seem very determined to get the limit lowered... I think 15 is perfect, I can't see how new members couldn't figure out that they needed 15 posts, an alert will notify them when they attempt to post a link in the first place. Besides, they're probably still getting used to how the forum runs so I see no purpose in them posting links anyways. I say better safe than sorry and keep it at 15.

I agree.
It is better than 25 posts which it used to be.
Like Big Balla said i dont know why people would need to post pictures or links in their first 15 posts.

For now the limit is going to stay at 15. (You've gotten enough "freebie posts" out of this thread anyways. :P)
