Sometimes we all make mistakes - and sometimes we get these mistakes brought to our attention. At The Writer's Block this is very likely to happen if you choose to display your work.

When Posting Your Stories/Poems

Remember that these are on display for ALL to see.
Some people may be more outspoken about your work than others if they think it needs improvement.
Take constructive criticism like a sport. If you recieve this you should be quite happy - it means that someone thinks you have potential, and that you could be very good once improved in a few places.
Don't get discouraged by negative feedback. It happens to everyone. :]
When criticizing don't be too harsh. Yes, you have an opinion, but please don't flame the user for their work for any reasons. In a nicer way please tell them what you think.

When Critiquing Stories/Poems

Be fair to the piece of writing or poetry - give it what it deserves, regardless of what you think of the user who wrote it.
Don't try and discourage writers. Even the best have to start somewhere - try and help them if you think someone may need a little shaping up.
Never compare someone's work to another user's - this is extremely disrespectful to the person who gets the short end of the stick.
When rating, remember that 5 is average. Don't give someone a high mark if you don't think they truly deserve it.
I would refrain from giving anyone 10/10 - after all, no one's perfect.
Always point out strong points as well as things that need to be improved.
