That Crab chatroom thing is one of many "(Animal) Chat" services that Rocketsnail Games produced. There is also an original Penguin Chat, a Happy Tree Friends version of it, and I believe a couple of others.

It's just a copy of the same chat engine that was used to make Penguin Chat, the only difference are the graphics. They all keep the same chat system (and buttons) intact. As it turns out, penguins were more marketable than crabs so that is why we have Club Penguin.

The game was produced for Barefoot Ministries according to some weblinks I pulled up. It was made a while ago, and it's no longer hosted by them anymore.

It's weird how Rocketsnail Games and New Horizon Interactive have all of these weird tie-ins with previous customers. Barefoot Ministries was a customer of New Horizon Interactive's web design services when those were offered. They also toted a game made by Rocketsnail Games. The disbanded band TAS 1000 was a customer of New Horizon Interactive as well, and one of their music tracks was used in a version of Penguin Chat.

Fancy little web they wove there.

as for the first pic , i remember back when CP was in Development they offered "penguin engine" where you could base your game on the Penguin chat engine, but when i enquired it was $950:O but when ClubPenguin launched they stopped it so no one could copy clubpenguin i guess

I think RFS has made it clear. The crab chat was one of the seven animal chats on http://www.rocketsnail.com. It was produced in 2002 I think, and remained until the beginning (or end, I've forgotten) of Penguin Chat 3.
And I think we all know what everything else is.

Yeah. I now remember all the "Animal Chats". There was Crab Chat, Chibi Friends Chat, Goat Chat, Ultra Chat and TV Chat. These were released slightly after Experimental Penguins. The very first thing Rocket Snail hosted, however, was a chatbox on an obscure website. Then he moved to http://www.rocketsnail.com in 1997 and began development on Experimental Penguins. In 2003 or something he made the Animal Chats and a host of other stuff for the site was released. He made Penguin Chat in 2003 (or was it 2002) as well. And now we have Club Penguin.
