Why in the world are so many people here upset about Disney owning Club Penguin? Do you people have any idea how much it actually helps our friends at the CP staff?
The Disney Company is THE most powerful company in the entertainment industry. They own ABC, ESPN, PIXAR, etc. The Walt Disney Company made over $15,000,000,000 in 2007 with its media networks alone. That is an insane amount of money. This means that there is an insane amount of resources for the CP staff. They can do things that they couldn't even dream of before.
To those of you arguing that CP should have spurned the Disney offer and waited for the likes of Nickelodeon or Nintendo: Disney is the strongest company in the entire entertainment industry. In 2007, they made over $35,000,000,000. That is thirty-five billion dollars. Walt Disney has just about every single resource available to them. They have the best computer technicians in the entertainment industry. We could see CP in other languages, and it could open the flood gates to more children, from Morocco to Japan. There is a whole new world available to CP. They would be crazy not to accept Disney.
Sure, CP may be taking numbers, words, and phrases away, but it's all for the better. They are just trying to make it a safe place for kids. The internet is alive with creepy people, and they are a definite threat. Disney has helped Club Penguin with security.
Club Penguin and Disney can only mean one thing: Club Penguin is getting better. It is one of the most popular and fun online games. CP, along with the help of Disney, will strengthen that statement. New worlds, places, friends, etc. is not a bad thing. Everyone, put on your sunglasses, because Club Penguin has a very bright future.

Thank you very much! You added to my point! Club Penguin being owned by Cp is nothing bad.
If I had Cp and I was offered a deal like that I would take it about 2 seconds after I become fully consious again.

Club Penguin is no longer a business managed by people with children of their own. It is owned by a corporation who is out to make money, and they know full well this Internet phenomena known as Club Penguin will make them back the $700M they spent and more. Regardless of what giant company/corporation bought the game, people would be unhappy.
But yes, I don't blame the creators, if I was offered $700M for the intellectual and developmental rights to something I made, I'd throw it out in a heartbeat because I wouldn't have to work another day in my life.

I am on your side on that one. 700 Million would make me sell just about anything (except relatives of course)

Err... The people on this forum know that. The stupid little kids who play the game are the ranters who don't know any better.

Disney is a money hungry corporate juggernaut looking to pound its way into the business world. And might I ask since when did Disney own ESPN? Regardless of who co-holds Club Penguin, I will remain dedicated to the game through thick and thin. It has provided me with some of the most fun i have ever had quite frankly.

Finally, some people with some sense in them appear on the scene! There are millions of ways in which Club Penguin is better now, and none in which it's actually, fundamentally worse.
Yours sincerely,

Well, I agree with you fully, but actually, Rockhopper was made by New Horizon Interactive, definitely not Disney. But I agree that Club Penguin will now have access to about ten thousand times bigger a budget than before, with an excess crew of helpers about ten thousand people strong. :O

Then don't bother posting in it. If you have nothing of any value to add to a thread, then don't. You're not a martyr.

Disney acquired ESPN in 1995 when they bough Capital Cities/ABC.
