if you want to find out how many different combinations your penguin has just tell me the total no. of items,colors(dont forget to count the one you are wearing) backgrounds and pins your penguin has
please do not count secret agent items

it took about 2 minutes
all the readings are accurate
you just need to add all your items and then subtract 1 and then add the no. again

I remember a post in the blog by Billybob in 2005 or 2006 saying that there were over a million clothing combinations THEN; and I was there then. You have got a particularly wrong formula.

The backgrounds thing was an approximation, but I'm pretty sure it was higher than 85. Something like 100. I don't have time to count; could you do me as if I have 100 right now, please? Just asking, thanks.

Read the 'fun fact'; even then there were more than a million clothing combinations. Sorry, but your method doesn't work at all, and there's tangible proof. Can you please, if you ever work out a working method, tell me my number of clothing combinations first. :mad:

But I concede about the backgrounds. I was wrong. I just checked, I have exactly 81. I'll help you with your list if you like, although I can't tell you much apart from their names and a picture.:confused:

i do not understand how you would calculate all of the different combinations as what if you had 100 hats lets say, and nothing else, you would have 100 combinations, but what about 20 hats, 20 neck items, 20 feet items, 20 body items and 20 hand items? surely that would add up to more combinations?

I have every item released in the game, and look at my number of combinations; 300,000 or something (he hasn't worked out my new combinations now that I've calculated my new total of items, but it'll be something like 300,000). Officially there are more than 1,000,000 possible clothing combinations AS OF MARCH 2006. :mad: Really, blahdu, get your facts right.

I'm pretty sure you're working out the amount if you wear only one clothing item, not a whole set. And even then, you'd have to includeall the combinations of less than max items, with backgrounds, pins, etc etc. You'd have to be some sort of mathematical genius to do that.

There aren't 523 clothes. I think you've got the wrong number for that. :P As of February 14, 2008, the maximum number of clothes you can get is 424. I can bet not even the administrators have more than 450. You can also, if you want to know, get a total of 13 colours, 81 backgrounds and 52 pins. That's all there is to it. Or is 523 your total number? If so, you might want to make that a little clearer.
Oh, yeah, and blahdu's current released formula for calculating the total number of clothing combinations doesn't currently work for a variety of reasons, the main one being that he needs to know the number of head, neck, body, hand, etcetera items in order to be able to use the correct formula.

That's right, I think. You'd need us to post the number of items for head, neck, foot, etcetera in order to work out the real total, which would then be very easy to find out. I could do it for you guys if you like.
