Mod PM?

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think that Mods should have PM's, not us users, just Mods/Admins. Users have the PM option, just not usable. And the PM's for us could only get messages by you guys, for spamming, or what ever reaon it is. This is also very convenient, because I know Mod's and Admins have alot of discussing to do for what not, and also, some reports could go to PM'S.:)

Its a nice idea, but I'm not quite sure if its necessary nor worth the effort. If us moderators want to get a point across or reprimand a user for breaking the rules, we simply hand out infractions, ban users, and give verbal warnings. It works out quite well, actually.

In addition, if a user wishes to speak directly to a moderator, he or she can do so via IM, email, or by posting a thread in this forum. Though we only recommend the latter choice if talking through email or IM will absolutely not work for you. (And you better make sure that neither work for you before choosing this option :P.)

As for reports, we already have a report feature... I'm not sure if we need another way to report posts. :confused:

Lastly, note me if I'm wrong, but I believe setting up this PM system would be a hassle. It would be quite time consuming because you would probably need a special module/script that would allow only moderators to talk to users and vice versa. (Which I assume would be either difficult to find or difficult to create.)

The last time I tried messing with the PM system to do this exact idea it turns out that users in the Validating group can still send PMs to people regardless of my settings, perhaps as a safety net so they can contact Administrators with problems activating their account.
