RP Help
In this thread, you may ask any questions you wish about Role Playing or this forum in general. Below are several questions and answers that may help you.
What does Role Playing mean?
In role-playing, participants adopt and act out the role of characters, or parts, that may have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds different from their own.
Why can’t I discuss anything off topic in this forum?
It distracts a users attention, and interrupts with the role-playing.
Someone stole my RP Character! What do I do?
If someone has stolen your RP Character please use the Moderator Badge http://penguinforum.miniclip.com/images/buttons/report.gif to report the user. That user will receive an infraction, or they will be restricted from posting in the Role Playing forum.
I want to join a Role-Playing Game, but it is full!
Unfortunately, if a Role-Playing Game is full, you cannot join in. Instead, you may create your own game, or join in someone else’s.
If this information does not help you, please ask your question in this thread. A user who has knowledge of this forum will most likely come to your aid and answer any questions you have. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. We are all friends here.
This forum was created for the month of February to offer users some additional fun here on the MiniClip Club Penguin Forums.

If this all works out in the end, this forum may be added as a subforum to the Anime Forum in March. :)

I'll be seeing how this goes, Spem really *really* wanted this forum added from the time he was a Trainee Moderator. I didn't think it would go over too well but since there was enough clammering to add an Anime forum I changed my mind and let him do a one month thingy that he wanted so bad. :P
If it's good then perhaps this can be moved into a subforum of Anime Channel or leave it here as Just For Fun.

It's not limited to anime, no. In the examples and rules we mentioned medieval stuff as well. You can do scifi, futuristic, anything you like as long as people don't start trying to do inappropriate stuff like gory and adult stuff. Fighting and stuff like in DBZ and other shows like that is allowed, but let's not get TOO gory with guts and blood flying everywhere. :P

Spem, may I have permission to use Club Penguin: The Movie as an RP? It is in your siggy and I was wondering if I could use it. It would be a very cool CP-related adventure.
EDIT: It would be Rockhopper-centered, and it would detail his history.

Club Penguin: The Movie was just a little funny thing I wanted to put in my signature. You have my permission to do as you wish with the name. ;)

You do not have to be an anime fan. You can create your game around anything, except reality. For example, you may post a game based on television shows, a certain game, or you could even create it all by yourself! You create the setting. :)
You also can give your character any specific characteristics you wish. However, your character can not be invincible. ;)

Ok, can I make a RP thread with like characters from a show without making them up? Like, I wanted to use Naruto (which you probably have guessed). But do I need to make up my own character or can it be a character that is already in Naruto?

I don't see any problem in simply borrowing an existing character. It's not really creative or anything, but that's fine.

Role-playing, its been around forever actually. Its when you act out things with your friends, but without a script as you make it up as you go along. I thought since I knew the answer it would be ok for me to tell you.

I fear that may be counted as discriminating, but it's the only way some people can enjoy roleplaying.

No one has the 'power' of becoming a good RPer. You just have to be a good writer.
P.S. We're not talking about RPG's

It is worth reading because it contributes to the story and I like it! I think he's good! Maybe you don't think he's good because you think you're so great at it and nobody else can compare to you! I'm not a very good RPGer, but he's awesome!

Well it's different because you're part of the story. I do not think I'm great at it and I do not think that nobody can compare to me.

No one can compare to us, you're right. We REALLY think that way, don't we?
Out of all honesty, he isn't a good role player. A forum role play is something completely different than what he is doing, trust me. I am working on a real forum role play, which I have studied online. The role players you see on this forum are just a small taste of what the actual forum role plays are. In a role play, you have a game master. They control what happens, example a Level Up or Death in the game. These people choose themselves, which is not how the games are supposed to be played. So no, he isn't a good role player if we're talking about a real online role play.
P.S Sheel:
Taste depends on what kind of person you are, not what someone else thinks is good.

hmmm, i see what happens... Try to make a storyline thats fun but not to complicated. Also, when you post, try to do something that will make the RP carry on, for example:
*An alien charged at the pair. Ryan shot it and said to Leroy:*
"Take the other one!"
You see, then the other poster knows what he has to type about, your RP's aren't doing that, people are just randomly doing things, a simple plot thats not too complicated might help.

alot of people who RP don't like wrestling (Some do, no offense.)
Try making a Rp that everyone will like, try taking something natural, and giving it a twist! Like lets take uuuuuh, sea side academy for the gifted. A ordanary school but for people with gifts such as fireballs and lightning. And it got over 1500 posts!!!
also, your Rp doesn't really have a storyline, like kingapenguins (Now kinga783).
