Not-So-Live Action Role Playing Forum Rules:
1. All regular CP Forum Rules apply here.
2. In all RP threads, you must use the character(s) you created in your Profile. Please also take the time to fully introduce yourself and your character(s) in the RP Characters Introduction Sticky. Pictures of your character are welcome and encouraged but not required.
3. Do not steal or act out as another user’s character.
4. Please do not post anything off topic in this forum. It may throw off part of the RP. Keep out of character (OOC) comments to a minimum please.
If you would like to post an Out of Character comment, please do so in your roleplay's OCC thread if it has one.
5. When creating a thread in this forum please be sure to add a storyline and inform everyone exactly what's happening. Key things you should point out are the time, location, and a general backstory.
6. All threads not related to RP'ing will be deleted. Instead of posting a thread if you have a question, you may ask it in the RP Help Sticky.
7. You may not create invincible characters for RP (powermodding). It really isn't fair to other users and the characters they create.
8. Likewise you cannot start killing off or removing other people from the RP unless you have permission to do so!
9. If a role-playing game is already in progress and the owner of the RP edits their first post saying that no more characters are accepted into the game, please do not join in.
10. Respect the tone of someone else's RP. If they are looking for a serious RP, do not try to join in as something like Spongebob Squarepants.
11. Lastly, this is NOT a "spam forum". While posts here do not count this is no excuse to act immature and ruin other people's threads and stories. Offending posts will be met with infractions and possibly bans, and in special cases you may have your viewing permissions of this forum taken away.
Suggestions and Tips for Better RP'ing:
1. Whenever you introduce your character into an RP game that is in progress, try to speak with the grammar that is used in the proper time period. For example, the theme of one user’s role playing game is based in medieval times.
"Hello my Lord. Allow me to introduce thy self. I hail from the land to the east, and am traveling across the land to serve any who accept me. None deem thyself trustworthy, for I hail from a dirty country where the poor are awaken to the land. Does thou wish to know thy name?"
As you can see, the character introducing himself from the medieval times attempts to speak with his own unique characteristics.
2. Your own character could possibly be noble, shy, brave, strong, handsome, or anything you desire!
3. If you like, you can base your character off of an existing anime or television show, nobody's stopping you.
4. Come up with a universal way to tell when someone is talking, performing an action, or speaking out of character, an example:
**Adventurer opens up the treasure chest.** - ACTION
"Gold!" - SPEAKING
[[The treasure really belongs to a dragon.]] - OUT OF CHARACTER
5. Don't join or start more RP's than you can keep up with. We would go as far as to say TWO is too many and you should stick with one, but if you think you can handle it feel free to try another at the same time.
6. Again, just respect others and the Moderation staff. If you prove to be unruly in this forum then you will be removed from it.
7. Wait patiently if it is someone else's turn to speak or post something. Do not continue on without that person.
Remember to update the "RP Character Profile" field in your forum profile!

At the bottom of the "Edit Profile" page there is a new section titled "RP Character Profile". There's a pretty big space there where you can describe your character(s). Like the rules/guidelines suggest try to be as descriptive as possible.
If you currently do not have a Profile Picture uploaded then feel free to use that space to show your character. If you already have a fabulous MySpace-ish picture of you in your profile, you can use a website like TinyPic (http://www.tinypic.com) and put the link to your image in the "RP Character Profile" section.
