Jan 29, 2008 - Dear RFS, Don't get mad but we kind of destroyed your mail.

Spem sent me an email a while ago that he was pleased to hear about Little Psygnos' hatchiday extravaganza. He wanted to send something special in the mail, which I eagerly anticipated and waited for for about a week.

Well, his wishes finally came in the mail, but when I pulled the envelope out of my box it looked like a five year old went psycho on it with crazy cutter scissors. It appears that one of the letter sorters went haywire and tore through the envelope and papers inside of it. Thankfully there were some silly chopsticks in there that absorbed most of the abuse (and became toothpicks) so the papers weren't completely destroyed. With a little bit of tape I tried to fix them as best as I could, here's what Spem sent to the birthday boy:

I can honestly say that nobody has ever sent me art in the mail, and I loved it, even though I was incredibly angry when I checked the post office today. Thank you very much Spem, it means a lot to me and I am sorry the inept idiots at the postal service trashed such a special gift when they could have ruined some debtor's credit card bill instead.

It was because of general incompetence at the post office. This is the third item I have gotten from them damaged in the two years I have had a box in Rockport. I am considering taking my mother's advice and buying a box in Fulton instead. It is a little farther away but my parents have had a box there since 1983 and they have not received one single thing damaged or messed up. A box there also is cheaper than Rockport. Fulton's is $22/yr, the one I have now is $40/yr.
