What is Rockhopper giving out?

What is Rockhopper giving out this time? I mean when you see him and click his buddy icon... not the stuff from his ship......Is it something new? Or is it still the background?

If it is the background or eye patch then I won't bother looking for him.

apparently, only the background, which is kinda annoying if you ask me, although there is the life vest

The life vest is very cool but I was hoping for a new "meet Rockhopper item" He has been giving out the background for several visits now. But of course it took me forever to find him to get that for sure.
