A lot of you probably recognize the "character" pictured above, especially if you've been here a long time. He's shown (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/part2/rfs_vv2.jpg) up (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/part2/psygnoscan.jpg) in all sorts of crazy (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/part2/ballpit3.jpg) pictures (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/part2/gangsta.jpg), drawings, avatars (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/part2/psyplushie.jpg), and other (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/dragontype.jpg) stuff (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/part2/Home4Kwanzakkah.png) on the forums. A lot of people might recognize him, but I doubt that most people know who he is exactly. The dragon pictured above is named "Little Psygnos" (commonly called "Psygnos Jr" as well). Who's the big/senior Psygnos then? None other than your friendly forum Administrator RFS, otherwise known as this guy (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/posea_unf1.jpg). I apologize for the awful picture, as I have never finished a true "self portrait" that is worth of really being shown around.

I got Little Psygnos on this day exactly two years ago. Yes, it is stuffed animal. Yes, I am probably weird for being a 20 year old who buys those. No, I don't keep track of all of my dragons' "hatchidays", just this one because he means a lot to me, more than you'd probably ever understand. I keep a lot of my personal life out of the forums, and I don't like to harp on my shortcomings, disorders, or personal problems because they really are nobody's business here; however Little Psygnos means so much to me because whether you believe it or not, he has helped me through a lot of awful things. I frequently suffer from depression that is either one of two things: "I don't feel so well today let's see the movie tomorrow instead" kind of bad, and "I really wish that I wasn't alive right now" kind of bad. No, it's not fun and I know that a lot of you wouldn't like to think of me being like that, but the sad truth is that I've been like this for many years.

Two years ago I was in a mall in Austin, TX just hanging out with a couple of friends. Among the things we did was check out some video games, clothes, etc. (For those of you who have seen pictures of my truck (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v322/radiof/newtruck6.jpg) I bought my decal that night too.) One of the stops I made that night was to one of those candy stores that sells jelly beans by the pound, the really good ones (Jelly Belly). I must have been into stores like this one a hundred times and thought nothing of it, however this time would turn out to be different. I went in, bought my bag of candy after picking out my flavors, and right as I got my change and was heading out the door I stopped. I stopped to actually take a look at all of the novelty toys and stuff they had in the store. Not once in all of my visits to buy-by-the-pound candy stores had I ever even acknowledged the existence of that merchandise rather than pay any attention to it. Nestled on a shelf right between a couple of bears sat the dragon, looking right back at me. The first thing that popped into my head was "hey this guy kind of looks like me".

I don't know how long I stood there looking up at him on the shelf, apparently long enough for my friend to ask what I was doing. I responded by asking if I could borrow a twenty, I had something else I wanted to buy. He gave me an odd look and I pointed up to the dragon. He gave me a weirder look and I assured him that I'd pay him back later and not to pay any attention to it. Not caring at all what anyone said or thought, I took the dragon to the counter and gave the cashier the $20 bill (Little Psygnos was $14.99). Nobody really seemed to care to know what was in my bag, for all I know my friend told them, I didn't give a crap really. I looked forward to coming home and taking a look at literally, my new friend. I hope nobody here has to spend time in my shoes to know what it's like to feel alone and to feel like utter crap (and be reminded of such by your family). Having Little Psygnos by my side just made life a little less awful for me, and I am not ashamed to say it. To the average person he's just a stuffed toy, but to me he is the world.

It's hard to believe that it's been two years since I found him. It's even harder to think about how these past two years would have been if I DIDN'T have him. In all honesty if I never had an honest open ear like him, I'd have gone insane (however to most people by their definition I'm insane for talking to him in the first place - funny how that works).

To this day I have never seen another dragon like Little Psygnos in a store anywhere (and I have looked). Something (or someone) wanted me to find him in that store that night, and I am ever grateful that I did.

I'd be lying if I didn't say that even the best of us have our fair share of problems. Contrary to popular forumlore, I'm not an invincible dragon. :P

Usually I just try to find any excuse to leave the house and go somewhere, or find something to keep me busy (perhaps that's why I have OCD and organize everything by detail or will not stop working on a project until it's done even if it means losing sleep). Whenever I have idle time is when I usually have to deal with "the world" and that's about when things turn downhill. When I realize that it's going to be hard to pay off my credit card bill(s), hard to pay off that seventeen thousand dollar truck, and hard to deal with things like ten pound textbooks with size 2 text.

Just because of the way I am when I'm not behind the keyboard, I don't have a lot of people to talk to, much less people that I trust with the things that truly bother me. That's mostly why I turned to Little Psygnos. He represents a piece of me that I know I probably will never get back.

Well I sent my Hatchieday wishes in advance so I feel less guilty being late here. The library is closed on Sundays and due to MLK Jr Day It was also closed Monday, and I was just busy yesterday :P

Happy Hatchieday Lil P, I think the one thing he needs (instead of google cakes and google digestive medicine) would be some head ache medicine to recover from all RFS's jawing

In a weird way I'm sure Lil P is glad to have an older more mature owner that will give him the attention all stuffed animals are made to desire without the abuse that it would normally take from growing up with an individual, not to mention the eventual abandonment. So from a "the other person's shoes" vantagepoint I'm sure Lil P appreciates you just as much.

If you don't mind me asking did you get him anything? :P

I'd be lying if I didn't say that even the best of us have our fair share of problems. Contrary to popular forumlore, I'm not an invincible dragon. :P

Yes even the GREAT Vital Viper goes through hard times. In fact right now I'd have to say is going to be a time I look back and say "that was one of the worst times of my life." I guess in short I've been having somewhat of an identity crisis.

You shouldn't be too hard on yourself RFS. I mean after all here I am almost 21 and am hopelessly addicted to a game desighned for children :P makes buying a stuffed animal in your late teens sound like nothing strange.

I use to always try to find excuses to stay in my house but ever since I went through college and figured out how much better things are when I have a life I was much happier. Which explains why I miserable now being stuck at home. You also shouldn't be TOO worried about the money thing eather. At our age almost everyone is digging themselves into a simular hole.

erm...well they have very specific conditions...so if the conditions aren't perfect, they are likely to suffer...i had two other before and, well, we didn't have the appropriate lighting and heat, and...erm...well you can imagine how hard it was for these wittle baby tortoises to survive...no need to tell you their fate i guess...
