I remember in the old CP FORUM that we could sometimes do membership contests for a month of membership, can we still make ones of those today or is it now against the rules? I could maybe make a contest with parental permission:)

The only contests that we allow are ones that are sponsored/sanctioned by either Miniclip, New Horizon Interactive, or RFSHQ. We do this because when membership is a prize, we do not need to have passwords or other account details to give out prizes, it is all handled by the appropriate companies.
Third party contests are ok, just as long as nobody is getting access to other people's accounts and such. Also, I wouldn't expect any of the three companies above to start sponsoring everyone's contests either (especially RFSHQ), because while it's nice to dispense free products, it is also a fast way to lose money.

hmm...alright, but before all that. How on the old cp forums did users give the free membership to the winner's accounts? I remember someone named yellow won the last one

I don't think we had any unsanctioned contests like that on the old forums. Perhaps someone POSTED one but it got locked?

It's coming back to me.
There was a contest to see who can make the best club penguin film animation on the old cp forums, the prize was a month of free membership. Many people entered, i think vital viper did too so maybe he knows. Some dude who had a video that was boring won (popularity ey?) and his name was iamyellow. He started some mail club after that. I think he is gone now though, i didn't like him.
Does that ring a bell? Maybe it was locked, mayeb it just died.

Before you attack me, please get your facts right. I never entered any contest for video making, I only started them a few months ago anyway, and there nothing to do with CP, the person you maybe talking about is an iamyellow2, search for him. He copied my name I was OK with that until he became hated and then said that his mum died thus why he was being silly on the forums. Then my name became ruined. I now see I have one more person who hates me on this forum. Thanks Putty, just got back from holiday; you've made my day.:|

Good for you.
Maybe the contest was minor, maybe the owner just made it, everyone enetred and it died suddenly. That cna happen over a short period of time

That was my contest (the first and only one on the old forums). Obviously, that one was sponsored by RFSHQ so it was allowed because permission was given and we could afford to award the prizes. The late Hot Pizza won that contest on pity votes alone. Hot Pizza has mercifully been permabanned from these forums.

For god sake, you are starting to get on my nerves, I am a non-member, I was only a member once when Davey bought me membership for being a loyal Penguin Posters Staff, a few months ago, I never have, never will call anyone a newbie, even when I was a member I only mostly kept on my trademark outfit, and used the membership for doing up the igloo. Before you lie, maybe you should try and research, it may make you look less stupid next time.
Just a note, maybe you should look in the mirror and think about your life, what kind of life can you have if your going to try and make someone look stupid on a Penguin Fan Game forum.
I am a nice person but I will not stand for anyone trying to make me look evil and nasty.
Please just stop digging now, it will save you time later when you cannot get out of the hole.

Wouldn't all these problems be resolved once CP game cards come out?

hmm, but theres kinda a catch
1) mailing the card needs adress information
2) if you give thme the code, you could use it before you give it to them

It would make things EASIER, but there are still risks of non-sanctioned contests. We cannot guarantee that Mr. Contest Runner will give you your prize, and even then there is the risk of giving a shipping/street address to have the prize sent to. It's just easier if the contests are handled by the three companies mentioned earlier, because we don't keep or disclose personal information like that (the address is used once to send the prize and we do not use it again afterwards).

Yes, that does make sense, otherwise it could be a paedophiles hosting it or something, though you'd be crazy to trust anyone on these forums that much apart from you and the other staff.

RFSHQ.com is a product of RFS Media Productions (that's actually the company, not RFSHQ). Most of our products today involve back-end work on things such as video editing/production and website code. In the past we have been involved with video game and television production, but as of right now we aren't involved with any of that.

You don't always have to be a company that sells stuff, also I do like the fact how you can just ignore stuff after you get clamped, you can not be trusted at all.:O:|

In 2004 we produced a release for the Atari 2600 called Pineapple 2000 (http://rfshq.com/-/Extras_And_Exclusives/pineapple-2000). It was sold to collectors. That same year we also worked on Ohio Weedeater Mishap (http://rfshq.com/-/Extras_And_Exclusives/ohio-weedeater-mishap) but we never put this into cartridge form. Both games were based upon already existing games (we borrowed and edited code). Four other titles were worked on and never finished in 2005 and 2006 (we ever started working on Ohio Weedeater Mishap again). Pineapple 2000 did not sell very well at all so we discontinued that kind of stuff. It cost us $250 to produce the cartridges and labels and I believe we only made like $300. We wanted to do a lot more with P2000 (we announced that we would include pack-ins like comic books and other fun little bits) but we quickly found out it was going to cost a LOT more than we had originally planned, so we only released it cartridge-only.
In terms of new video games we kind of have a "Duke Nukem Forever" situation going on with an announced computer game. (It's currently in "development hell", which means that nothing is getting done.)
As for television we have been approached by both Clear Channel Communications and First Television about productions and projects but nothing worked out between either of them. We're still happily working on online projects, as long as we know that there are actual television companies out there likely keeping an eye on us we'll remain active.
One other thing I didn't mention in my other post was that at one point in time we also attempted a kind of record label, but we didn't manage to sign very many people on, and even then there was not a high demand for the samples we had released online and stuff.
