Beta penguins. They are popular. But I have a huge problem with beta penguins. I was just at the dock(Frozen) and helen 25k(?) came to the dock. S/he drew a huge crowd as always. But I wanna know why don't betas ever take off their SO AWESOME UGLY PARTY HAT? I see nothing special in betas. They played and test Club Penguin but really, who cares? They are not special or a mod. They are regular penguins like you and me. The problem is that people crowd them like a mosh pit. I mean really if you get over joyed about a fictional party hat then get a life. They are HUGE and I mean HUGE show offs. Not all betas are bad people. Take example Bad Boy or Little Wolf. They don't show off or anything. But that's not the point. The point is that some betas are big show offs and have nothing else to do then sit at the dock on Frozen and sit and draw a crowd.
Note this thread was NOT about one person, it's about a group of people.

Penguins who make a huge parade over beta hats don't really know what is best for them. Well, some do but want to fit in with five year olds. The hat became oh-so-rare when penguins saw another penguin with it on, and said "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT!?" That led a chain effect of penguins finding the meaning of this ugly hat, and thus, making it the most popular item in the game. Now, back on topic, the betas deserve SOME recognition, but not tons of crowds that only fill up the rooms. If people like Helen didn't obsess over a child games online fame, then we wouldn't have crowded rooms as often, would we?

I know betas deserve some recongnition but they have to show it off so much.

They received the Beta hat to show it off and wear it knowing that they helped create and smash bugs within the early stages of Club Penguin. If they want to show it off, they can. They tested Club Penguin and are the foundations of the early Club Penguin. Just go into another room and ignore it, or get used to it, I suppose.

They recieved it as a symbol of pride to show that they were the penguins who found the bugs in Club Penguin- not to 'show it off'. The penguins that Reviv is addresing show it off to be popular in the game. So you are right and partly wrong at the same time. Of course, I will have many people who will/would (in the future) highly disagree with me.

I think its perfectly fair. So they draw attention, its not their fault everyone crowds them. Besides, you may disagree now, but I bet if you had one you would be wearing it too. Wearing old items is cool, showing a piece of Club Penguin history.

I suppose. They weren't given the hat to 'show off' but they have every right to show it off. They earned it. Besides, I can't possibly see how someone can get aggravated seeing some other penguin being crowded and admired and then rant about it. Just go into another room and ignore it.

They were givin the hat because it was just a normal party, with hardly any penguins playing, so thats why there super rare, its the same as any other party hat, just different colors that penguins like because they're super old, they are still considered show offs

Only by the people who let it get to them. If people/noobs think they are rare because of their hat (yes its old, yay) crowd them doesnt mean the beats are show offs. If the beta tries to make crowds, scream Im A Beta!, then that makes them a show off. If you were a beta I bet you might of thought differently ;)
P.S. The party wasnt just rare because no one played CP. It because it was in its beta stage and no one knew about it

some beta's don't wanna get crowds, it's not their fault, it's the n00bs faults for crowding them and being hyper over a bunch of yello and pink pixels

Not all beta penguins are bad people, or seek fame. They simply draw penguins. It is not their fault. I, for one, am not only a beta tester but also a member, but I, for one, do not normally wear my beta tester party hat. You're right. They're normal penguins who got to Club Penguin a little faster than the rest of the crowd, which isn't especially cool. But several people want to be like them and be recognized. That's why their treated so well.
Just keep in mind, Mammoth and frozen are full of noobs that wanna be on you tube and be popular.
If you dont like it stay away like I do : D
That's completely true. Mammoth is especially full of wannabees and noobs. But there's a reason for that: a lot of the 'best' penguins, what people call beta testers, rich penguins, famous penguins and etcetera also go on Mammoth, which is why it is full of noobs.
yep frozen is filled with noobs and poser :shout::shout::shout::mad::mad:
Yes. But not as much so as Mammoth.
Well Doc, if he stays away, all of his online buddies will not be there. The point of the game is to have fun, and you can't have fun in a Multiplayer online game alone.
Agreed. That part of your post is completely true.
If the item returned, over HALF of the wanna-be penguin society we have would claim they were original betas. Then, the Beta group, would whine and say
"DON'T REPORT ME FOR SWEARING!!!!! DON'T BRING OUR HAT BACK!"
thus leading to fights, arguments, DARE I SAY... SWEARING ON MEEBOS!! OH NO! But of course, that will never happen, as stated by the staff. They said that pinsa and party hats will NOT come back, EVER.
Perhaps you're right about that, but then again, perhaps you are wrong. Although I agree with the fact that beta testers do not deserve the popularity they get, your story of how they became famous is not true. It mostly started circulating from these forums over through websites and finally into the game (by majority; if you were hunting after beta testers while it was just getting around Miniclip, then you started early). And yes, pins and party hats are unlikely to come back.
I think that if Club Penguin ever has one month before they close, they should have a mega-catalog where you can get any item in the game. That would create the largest lag in the history of the game, but, you could have a full collection of items before it shut down (just a thought).
Now, back on topic, the betas deserve SOME recognition, but not tons of crowds that only fill up the rooms. If people like Helen didn't obsess over a child games online fame, then we wouldn't have crowded rooms as often, would we?
I have nothing to say to your mega-catalogue idea. I guess that it might work, but would be pointless for Disney to organize, since they only care about money, and before shutting down Club Penguin would spend all their time trying to increase their income, decrease costs, lower the game's quality, and then, when the game became hopeless, try to sell it off; if that didn't work, they would then proceed to initialize shutting down as quickly as possible, first trying to increase all shares of other companies, and then cutting off their own shares, before finally shutting down Club Penguin. Before it comes to Club Penguin being shut down, I guarantee that very few people will be playing by then. Okay, fine. The above paragraph isn't nothing, but it still isn't much.
As to your on-topic part of the post, I agree with everything apart from that you said that beta testers deserve some recognition. I don't think that's true; they're completely normal penguins, you just arrived slightly earlier than others, early enough to be able to wear a hat and test the game from its bad stages onwards. They (we) don't need, and most don't want, special treatment.
They got it as a sign that they helped Club Penguin, not as a tool to show off. But I still agree that if you don't like it, you should just leave the room or get used to it.
It is, yes, a mark of pride, but it is also simply a normal item given to those who got to the game quickly. It is available for any purpose that it is given by the wielding penguin, not by the game itself. Therefore, penguins can use it to show off or wear with pride. Popularity is something that children all around the world live for, and if they struggle to get it (or enough of it) in real life, they try to get it in an artificial game. Get used to it.
I suppose. They weren't given the hat to 'show off' but they have every right to show it off. They earned it. Besides, I can't possibly see how someone can get aggravated seeing some other penguin being crowded and admired and then rant about it. Just go into another room and ignore it.
You cannot earn something that you were lucky enough to get. Look at my earlier posts for more information about that. You're right, however, that it's strange that people have problems with them just because they're crowded around.
They were givin the hat because it was just a normal party, with hardly any penguins playing, so thats why there super rare, its the same as any other party hat, just different colors that penguins like because they're super old, they are still considered show offs
Actually, more than 100,000 penguins were playing by the end of the beta tester party (or around that time). But you, my friend, are the first person in this thread to recognize that beta tester party hats are completely normal things, just slightly older than some things, and that, like their namesakes, beta testers are normal things as well.
Yours sincerely,
Game Lord
Pingu Chippa

yeah, some beta testers can't help being crowded, but some want crowds, so they go to mammoth/frozen dock, knowing that there are a lot of people there.
