I spent the day today taking a final exam in my Media/Society class, which I know for a fact I completely destroyed. If I made anything less than perfect on it I'll be stunned. That's the only class in the history of me being in college thus far where I made a consistent near-perfect A on every single assignment in the class (two 5-page essay research papers and the midterm exam to date). This time it's the money shot, A+ or bust and with the bonus points I tallied up everywhere I know I went over that mark. The rest of the tests in my classes don't have such a bright outlook. I'm expecting a B in Intro Comm, B in Government, and a C or D in Macroeconomics (thanks to Vital Viper I don't learn anything in class).
Anyways you're probably wondering where the fun and games I promised in the thread title come into play here. RFSHQ's "MATT DAMON!!!" (also known as simply Jason) rode up to school with me today and hung around while I finished my test. Afterwards we waited on Vital Viper to finish his test and we decided to go and check out the "new" anime/gaming store in the city. Overall we were all pleased with at least something there. Vital Viper purchased Blades of Steel (NES) and we spent a solid 15 minutes beating up people. Jason was impressed with the silly anime RPGs and figures they had for sale (none of you probably know him but he is really into that). I just had a fun time checking out the inventory, lots of games. Unfortunately some of them were being sold for eye-gouging prices. Just a brief selection of what I remember them selling stuff for:
A Nintendo NES system, complete with no games and 2 controllers - $75 :|
Mega Bomberman for Genesis (game only, no box/manual) - $25
Challenge of the Dragon for NES (game only, no box/manual) - $65
A lot of you probably aren't as encyclopedic about video games as I am, so just take my word on this: that is all extremely overpriced. Although I will give them credit and bonus points for having a beta version of Goldeneye 007 for Nintendo 64, even though it carried the price tag of $80.
Anyways, we hung around at the comic book store as well, which I haven't been in for at least a decade. Vital Viper was thumbing through some random 10c trading cards while I kept pointing to furry comics and telling Jason "I'm getting you this for Christmas." Vital Viper comes over to me and shows me this really awesome art card:

I knew I had seen this before. Oh, right. It was a computer desktop of mine YEARS ago, and I also drew a copy of this (slightly modified) in pastel once before too. This was part of the original artist's series of prints, and for ten cents you bet your butt I bought this card. Also by the same artist:

(Lookit the mama dragon!! :D - Also an old desktop.)

(Turn your head to the side, sorry I'm an idiot and didn't flip it.)
There were some other insanely stupid cards too, such as what the three of us described as "Tom Cruise with a fire breathing komodo dragon" and "the most extreme awesome dinosaur picture ever". However among all of the trading cards was a two inch thick stack of "Famous Comic Artists" from the early nineties. You'd think this contained X-Men artists and stuff, and it did, but two "artists" stuck out like a sore thumb.
"Haha, look at what this guy is famous for making!" Vital Viper says.
I take the card from him. It looks like a photo of your average comic book nerd: white, older, balding, a little overweight, glasses, and extreme facial hair. Then I turn the card over to look at the back. I am greeted with furry artwork from 1982. 1982. EIGHTY TWO. Worst of all there was a second artist with that comic book series (some weird looking chick). Thanks a lot you two. No really, thanks. The subculture community/lifestyle you helped give life to has provided me with many uncomfortable encounters in my 19 years of life. I hope you're happy. You two "artists" helped ruin the Internet.
With that said, the next time I'm in the city I'm going to go back, buy a BUNCH of silly/stupid cards, and then scan them and make the laziest RFSHQ article ever.
