In a previous blog post (http://penguinforum.miniclip.com/showthread.php?t=33449) I mentioned without detail that my truck locked up and broke down while I was running errands after school. In short, the brakes locked up for seemingly no real reason, which means that the truck's brakes are working against the engine, not good or safe to drive. At all. Luckily the truck broke down at the streetlight near where I had to be anyways, so I pulled into the parking lot (rather slowly and with the hazard lights flashing) and Vital Viper and I tried to inspect the problem.
We called up for my dad to bring HIS truck up with a platform trailer but by the time I got there (about an hour) the problem seemed to have worked itself out. Either way I still called the dealership I bought the truck from and scheduled and appointment to have it looked at and fixed. This morning I was going to drop the truck off and have it looked at since it was driving fine. The plan was, mom was going to take the kid(s) to school and then give me a ride back to the house after I left the truck at the shop.
I didn't make it there. As soon as we passed the school that my brother attends I found that I could NOT speed up past the 30 MPH school zone limit once I was out of it, the engine was revving, and the brake pads were screeching (and I wasn't currently using them). It did it again. I pulled over, called the shop and had them send a wrecker since there was no way that I could get it on the platform trailer my dad had. The loading ramps were TINY, but there was so much force on the wheels making them not move that I couldn't even get it up over that tiny ramp and onto the trailer.
So, the tow truck showed up, I wrote down the explanation, and he left carrying my ride. :P
I'm just glad that I made it home from school last night without it acting up again. The ride was 40 miles from the campus, and the brakes locked up within 5 miles of me leaving my house today. I'm lucky. Anyways, the truck is all under warranty so I don't have to pay a dime to have it looked at and fixed.
Here's my truck by the way:
