I recently just finished reading the Outsiders by S.E Hinton. Has anyone else ever read this book? I thought it was one of the best books i have ever read, and that it is really suspensfull, and has lots of action. What do you guys think?

We read it and watched the movie in Grade 8. I loved how Tom Cruise is one of the background actors for the movie. Whenever I saw him, I'd be like "Hey, it's Tom Cruise!" and the teacher got really angry. It was sweet. Good book.

I just read it earlier this year. It was one of the best books I have read, and by far the only book I have liked that we read in school.
The movie wasn't as good. It left out some big parts that were in the book, but it was still good.

Read the book a couple of years ago in school. Wasn't bad, wasn't great, wasn't anything special. It had its moments, but I didn't really enjoy it all that much. As for movies based on books, I tend to dislike them, so I disliked the movie. But before it sounds like I disliked a lot, the teacher that year was awful. She just killed any potential any book had during the year. Yet, she was a student favorite...well whatever, I'm thinking too much. Decent book all in all.

Oh, yes I recall that book. I was in a play about it, such a long time ago. Good times, good times. I believe I was one of the children.

I read the book last year in 8th grade. It was pretty good. I remember Johnny and Dally dying, and that Cherry girl or whatever her name was, anyway, I like the book!;)

We just got done reading this for English class.
I thought it was a good book. We watched the movie after we read the book, and it was pretty cool too.

I've read this book, and I loved it. It relates to me and my friends. We were the toughest kids last year. We're reading this other book also written by S.E Hinton. It's called That Was Then, This Is Now.

Yea, I read the book in english class this year. It's ok, not one of my favorites though. The movie wasn't as good as the book.

I also just finished The Outsiders in ELA, awkward.
We also watched the movie the next day we finished reading it, I was surprised to see that Tom Cruise played the role of Steve Randle. Tomorrow I have an exam on the book, sadly, it's 120 questions. I haven't had an exam that big since last year.

Our entire school is going to read that book together. They could have just kept it in English class, but NO! We have like a whole outsider's day and everything. They're blowing everything way out of porportion. I mean, it's just one book. Don't get me wrong, it sounds like an ok book, but I've never REALLY enjoyed reading alot. I mainly only do it if I'm forced to. (Seeing as we're forced to read 4-5 books every marking period, I have some reading to do.) BTW, thanks for ruining the whole flipp'in book for me DirkD!!! (You know I'm just jk)

Being forced to read it in english, it's OK, but not good. At the part where Johnny and Ponyboy(<------ LOL) shave their heads after shooting Bob. Johnny dies cuz a big hunk a' flaming wood falls on him. (friend read whol book, told m everything that happened ;))
